Agent Lemon extraction from 30mg Stopex pills

So.. Stopex 30mg pills are the cheapest and also the most efficient DXM source around here as they cost *snip - sorry no pricing* for a 30 pill pack, and each pill is 30mg DXM hBr and Mannitol.
I have got an idea to extract pure DXM from these but i dont know if it is possible to somehow take the Mannitol away to leave only pure DXM and also i havent found anything about extracting DXM from solid pills...
And breaking it into a powder is not a good idea because of the Mannitol, it causes horrible stomach problems.
Any reply will be appreciated

Uh, i'd grind em up to a powder in a blender, dissolve in water, filter out the crud, and do an acid/base extraction on the liquid... You'd need to do a little research to find solubilities and pick a proper solvent to extract the base from the liquid.

Either that, or just order DXM powder online *shrug*. That's probably way easier and likely cheaper as well.
