Age of first heroin dependence

At what age were you first addicted to heroin, by your circumstances of addiction?

If you got dependant at 19 while insufflating and then started iv'ing.



Note: I'm not asking when you first tried heroin, but rather, when you first became physically dependant.
 
March after I turned 20. Some shit went down that pushed me over the edge and I started using the needle everyday. Up until then I was using on the weekends... I fell over myself and became dependant. Luckily I aint dependant no more.
 
18, started snorting, eventually I became an IV addict.

however, thats not the case anymore. I'm 22 now, I use opiates from time to time, and I have my runs, but I stay far far away from heroin.

20, smoking (tar) No snorting, occasional IVing

edit: though already dependant on opiates (hydro, oxy, etc) by 18 or 19, but didn't really know it
 
When I was 20, I had been doing oxy quite heavily for about a year, using about 320mg daily, then I started snorting the H and IVing it now and then though I was mostly snorting since I made a ritual out of IVing that took too much time for my constant use, eventually I went back to OC's since they were much cheaper than H where I was living, though I used the heroin on and off whenever I had the cash, and since I had to buy at least 2grams at a time I used it 5days in a row and then went back to oxy for the rest of the month.

Never experienced much wd's cause I was using other opiates (I was also heavily addicted to benzos) to take care of that when for whatever reason my stash was running short.

That went on till I was 22 when I also became addicted to cocaine and eventually crack came into the mix, and on any given day I'd do something like 18mg alprazolam 75mg midazolam 280mg oxy 1-2grams of coke a lot of poppy pod tea and then stay up all night smoking crack and scraping used foils with semiburnt heroin to snort or resmoke.

Needless to say I was a living wreck and my lifestyle drew way too much atention, eventually I ended up in rehab, where I had to endure HORRIBLE withdrawals, though on hindsight it was for the best.

I've had a bunch of relapses with heroin, benzos and cocaine, but I feel I'm getting past the relapse stage now.

Now I'm 23, I'm on 50mg Naltrexone daily and on december I'm starting buprenorphie.

uh, are painkillers heroin?




There is a difference too....sure its common for kids 15-16-17 yrs old to be usin vicodin and percocets and oxys and shit like that.

But its uncommon to talk to kids who already tried heroin by the time they were 16 or a younger age than that.

so maybe the OP wasnt interested in hearin about kids who abuse script op's cuz its a thing that happens kinda on the regular....heroin on the other hand....

Over here you'd rather have the opposite happen. America is the country of abused pharms, from what I've gathered. I'm the only one I know that ever used pharms to get an opiate high, and I know a bunch of H smokers.. Who are not even interested in it because it's a semi-legal high.
 
I was shooting heroin daily by the time I was 16 and a large amount also. I started using painkillers and got addicted when I was late 14-15. Im not really sure why I started so young. I always chilled with older people and when I tried them I just fell in love with the high and it just kept progressing.

Yeah was gonna say kids here are far more likely to be taking heroin then any kind of pharm pill over here.

Your either using brown or your not an opiate user pretty much.

Didn't even try it until I was in my 30s. Smoked it a handful of times - it's a lovely feeling, but I dunno... I guess not many of my friends are into it that much any more so it doesn't really come up as an option.
