Age differences

Age differences are such a weird puritanical obsession. Over on Reddit, there are people who want to raise the age of consent to 25. I've never dated a girl less than 4 years younger, and a few 15 years younger. When I think about them, I don't think about the age difference. If anything, a responsible college girl with youthful drive can be a good thing for a junkie.

In my experience, girls shoot older. Just is. Whatever, I'm single and soberly boring these days.

But I think the age gap talk should just stop. It's particular to the mores of the current zeitgeist. It's like making sex a private act 100 years ago. Most people lived in a one room home well into the 1950s where sex never happened in private. In the US, I wouldn't be surprised if having sex in the same room as your children is a crime. But 95% of people did just this even in the US up until the 20th century. Privacy was a luxury only the ultra rich enjoyed.
 
I don’t think an age difference matters if you’re speaking strictly about sex. I slept with a guy nearly 13 years younger than me after I left my husband (fun times) and married (stupidly) a man 8 years older. I also dated a helicopter pilot who was 9 years older than I was and our maturity levels matched, I felt, until I discovered that he was in fact married.

When it comes to relationships, a shared frame of reference and similar personal experiences is essential for the success of any relationship, I feel. If the age difference is too great, that will be difficult to find.

The guy that was 13 years younger was super interesting and funny and had a great job but in so many ways he was so immature. He died instantly after driving south in the northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway.

In my opinion, age differences are not as problematic as dating someone from a completely different socioeconomic background. I’m not being snooty, I have just never had good luck dating people who come from completely different backgrounds, from a wealth standpoint.

I’m 3 years older than my boyfriend of 2+ years, Darvie. I think we get on quite well together.

Btw if I haven’t said this before, I’m 8 years older than my partner. But this works out because he’s MENTALLY more mature than me, and I’m basically still a teenager in my head. He’s more responsible than me. And I have a super high sex drive, so the fact that he’s younger is a plus, cuz he can keep up with me in bed 😉

Age REALLY IS a state of mind. You ever met someone who was really old but also super immature? Seems like they never grew up. Meanwhile there’s precocious children spouting wisdom beyond their years. People are different, so if they’re legal and you get along well, just ignore the age difference.
 
Not to me be of legal age have all your stuff work properly. Sound mine Good moral compass. Be reasonably attractive. That's about it
 
I think it is comedical what some of you are posting on this forum... really? sociecomenic class difference is where you draw the line but also want to "have sex" with someone who has never been in a corporate job... wtf
 
I don't think there's hard and fast rules when it comes to relationships. If you click, you click. Look at Emmanuel Macron and his wife. She was his teacher and was 40 when he was 15. They fell in love. People would say that's the most inappropriate thing ever but they appear to be very happily married.

It does because with age differences you are at different stages of your life. I have dated both older and younger. The differences can be overcome, but they can be very challenging.
 
I am 44 (male) and my gf is 19. We met online and we clicked from the second we met. I knew I was going to face tons of judgement and ridicule when we decided to date exclusively but she’s worth it. We are each other’s best friend.
 
Normally I dated or even just fucked girls around my age or (more often) older than me, to the point that one of them was 11 years older than me, I didn't give a damn nor I felt "used or abused" in any way...
The thing is, now I attract younger girls, I don't know why, I guess I don't look 35 by any means, more like 26-28 and that's a very attractive period I guess, i'm attracting girls from 15 to 45, so .. crazy age gap. Of course I'm not a pedophile so I wont' date or approach (or let any approach) girls lower than 19 (20 I would say) so well... but nowadays I'm starting to feel something for a 20 years old girl and it seems reciprocal,
I have never been in this situation but I guess it's more or less the same as every other relationship, more complicated because not being in the same period of life, but I don't mind, it's likely that this thing (if it works) will be quite short, not a LTR, but if it happens, it would be also very cool, IMO.
Let's see..
I don't believe in "age gap" thing, I believe in brain functioning on specific persons...

Perfect, I do think it's more natural, to be honest, it's some type of "tradition" that it was frowned upon last decades but it will come back strong, i'm sure, no one can destroy natural tendencies, it's what work in this material (and spiritual) world....
but the opposite can be as good in some cases, it all depends on both persons compatibility.
 
robert deniro was like 79 last year and had a kid with a lady half his age... i guess an old dude with a lady 30 or early 40 yo is less weird than if he was with a teen... i dunno. i guess you're pretty aged by 40ish.... i've seen porn where girls appear to be turned on and with older dudes, but honestly what i understand a girl can appear to be turned on or their vagina will be turned on for sex but that's not where their mind is at at all, so who knows what's going on in those videos... i saw a girl whose clit looked totally turned on in one video and she was getting banged by like an 80 yo and it was supposed to be the guys wife was rubbing the teen while she was getting banged... i dunno if this is really the thread for me to get that descriptive. i've definitely heard stuff that's as intense as i'm getting in this forum, but i guess that's not really where this thread is at, but that's what i'm thinking about..

i'm a 39 yo guy and at dispensaries and gettting coffee or whatever, some girls that are younger appear to be hitting on me... i look like i might be younger. people say i look like a cross between john lennon and johnny depp in pirates of the caribean, so like a lot of other dudes, girls seem to gravitate toward me.. i think if some of the younger ones knew my age, they'd be like "oh whoops.." but you never know. i kind of feel like girls just want me to buy alcohol too..

i wouldn't really see a problem with a guy up until even like 50 dating a girl in their twenties.. i dunno about 18, they can't even buy alcohol yet. but yeah.. men can have kids for longer than women. i don't really know what's best... i'm reminded of that song "all that she wants is another baby" and some dudes are better to breed at 50 for a 20 year old than say if they had a best friend but was just like unhealthy, and or ugly or whatever. a lot of people don't think about that when having kids. lol.... honestly though, robert deniro having kids at 79 is kind of weird. he's not even gonna have time to raise the kids. maybe that's not important though. i don't write the rules..

personally on this subject, i've felt like because i use drugs and probably have a lower sperm count, even with what i read about weed not necessarily being bad but making the semen swim different or whatever it is.. i feel like i'm cheating women and it might not be best for me to have kids, so i don't bother with women a lot... when i was taking lsd a few years ago,i thought lsd was making my back injury healthier and i thought i could guide my semen with the power of christ through the electricity in my brain and it'd be safe for me to have kids, so i was going out and looking for girls... nothing really worked out though....

personally i feel like i'm being kind of greedy being a druggy and still wanting to have sex (i know some women just like casual sex. i have some hang ups that are possibly because or definitely because of religion, but also because that song "all that she wants is another baby". lol... personally if they had a reality show where dudes just jerked off at a semen bank and married the first girl they fertalized, i would definitely have kids...i see so many girls that i'm like "she's not even my favorite, but i'm so lonely i'd take just about any body." i'd honestly get sick of so many girls like that and it'd just be good sex for a while because i get into looking at some girls that are probably considered ugly to a lot of dudes, but after a while that would loose the fun i think. like i like to be alone cause i can watch asmr or porn of different girls whenever i want... if i had kids though, i think i'd be more patient and feel like i was with who ever i had kids with... i think that would kind of suck in some ways...

i think it's crazy how old dudes just pay young girls to be in videos and stuff too... i don't even know if that's wrong depending on how the girl feels.. most of that stuff i see on the net is with out condoms... i could see being a young girl and banging an older dude with money if he got his semen checked, had decent semen, and was gonna just pay for my kid... i definitely see nothing wrong with that if it's not something that makes a girl sick... i think age is something people are attracted to sometimes too. i find that harder to believe than a girl just wants money though... it's defintely sad when girls get into porn with shitty deals.. i'm guessing what i'm saying is not something that even happens and most girls are just getting cheated.
 
I mean, my first serious relationship was with a girl / young woman who was 7 yrs older than me. I was 14 and she was 21.

She looked much younger than she was and I acted older than I was. Oh and I did ALL the seducing, because I really really fancied her.

She was shocked when she found out my real age. So, according to the people who get super het up about this, was SHE the 'cradle snatcher' (like she jokingly called herself once she knew) -?

Because I bet if our relationship had been the other way round I'd have been condemned as a paedo straight up. Definite double standards.
