Saw some appealing shrooms at tafe today, the reason for them being appealing is i've definately seen types like these as psylocybe shrooms on the net. ill upload some pics of them and if anyone experienced people could give their opinions it would be much appreciated.

btw i live in sydney in the manly(northern beaches) area.

... then again, i am not too familer with libertys. I know they grow on well manicured lawns (dirt).

But these 'just dont look right'. Anyone else?

anyone from sydney had any success picking shrooms? :/ i would love to try them..might even consider ordering spores :P

btw i didnt remeber them looking as bad/bruised as that before, i put them in a maccas cup with a lid on it and in my bag... the cup would of had tiny puddles of coke in it too, all that i couldnt get out

I was wondering if anyone knew any sites that could tell me if there were any dangerous/poisonous mushrooms that looked similar to these or liberty caps or something, i've come across a site like this before but i cant remember.

im still keeping my fingures crossed that these are some good stuff :S they do kinda look similar to the liberty's and the liberty's are common in australia

try http://www.shroomery.org/ there is a fairly large amount of information regarding shrooms on that site. I think most people will agree that concerning suspected active mushrooms, "when in doubt, go without."

From what I've found out through research, at this time of the year you are not going to find psychoactive mushrooms anywhere but in cow shit. So either start looking elsewhere or stop posting pictures and just assume that you can't eat anything you have found.

Do a few more checks than "bruises blue" and "looks like a photo I once saw". Sometimes it's an incredibly subtle difference that distinguishes between fun and death. First step is to know backwards what you're looking for. Second step is to know backwards what you're not looking for, so you can learn the differences.

those look like coprinus - otherwise known as inky caps. tehy turn into goo. they are NOT psychoactive.

if you're seriously thinking about ingesting mushrooms, then do some research. even a small amount of research will allow you to at least be looking in the right places at the right times.

at this time of the year in sydney, you're only going to find magic mushrooms in cow shit.

I strongly reccomend you not go out looking for mushrooms until you have been shown what to look for by an EXPERIENCED collector, some mushrooms are incredibly dangerous to ingest and, according to recent accounts in the media about a species found in the botanical gardens, poisonous to even TOUCH. I know someone how ended up on dialysis with acute kidney failure as a result of eating the wrong type of mushroom and he was with somebody who thought they were experienced..
