Typically whenever I nod on opiates I'll usually come to between 1-3am and immediately become freezing. Like to the point where I'm shaking uncontrollably and no matter how many layers I put on its not enough

I have no idea why but it happens every time without fail. I can be in my semi-state of consciousness and be fine but as soon as I come to is when it starts

I thought it could be food depravation but I really doubt it

Fuckin opiates

Well, my first suspicion would be withdrawals. Feeling freezing cold is always one of the first signs of withdrawal that shows up for me.

But if you're sure it definitely hasn't been long enough to be in any WD yet when this happens, then I would say one possible reason is that you have fallen asleep high, which makes you less able to feel cold, and didn't realize it was kind of cool in your room, maybe you weren't getting enough food and water too, and then when you are asleep or semi-conscious, your core body temperature drops, and the combination of things makes you awake feeling really cold. When you are unconscious or semi-conscious you just don't feel it.

The same thing can happen when one falls asleep when not on opioids, your body temperature drops so you wake up feeling cold, have you never noticed that before? Not only that but for healthy young adults who normally sleep at night, body temperature usually is lowest around 3 to 5 am.

Freezing and shaking sounds like that bastard vasocontriction, but i dont think opiates do that however not eating or drinking might.
Also check to see if it has in fact gotten colder around you

Come onnn man give me a little more credit than that. While obv it's colder at 2am than it is at 10pm, this will happen to me whether it's August or January. I think what SWIMmingdancer said seems pretty solid, but I dk, I'm not really planning on nodding out anymore in this lifetime anyway :/

Idk bout freezing but I get cold when starting to come down off opiates. Maybe its the drug wearin off?
