After 36 hour withdrawal...will my tolerance have decreased??

A very high percentage of opiate OD's are from people relapsing after detox and not realizing that they are now effectively opiate-naive and need to start again at a low dose.

I only went around 36 hours without any Oxy. Will my tolerance be affected at all?

Sorry if this kind of thing has been asked before, but I didn't want to take any chances of taking too much.

From the question in your title, my answer is absolutely NO, your tolerance could have done nothing but go down, never increase, while withdrawing.

However, Your own metabolism and body chemistry will determine for YOU alone just how much it goes down over a certain time period, in this case 36 hours.

I would first try HALF of your normal dose at the MOST, maybe even less, in terms of harm reduction, if you still want to use. Otherwise just stick it out and stay off the shit man. ;)

By the way, im only suggesting HALF/or less dose for this mans 36 hours. The longer you stay clean, the lower percentage of your usual dose you should try. After a week or two i would start with tiny increments and work my way back up because you never know what your body will do. NEVER base a dose off of what someone else is capable of ingesting, regardless of your clean time compared to theirs. I have a naturally high opiate tolerance, i kept taking pieces of OC back in the day until i took an entire OC 80 my FIRST time EVER taking opiates, and i was hardly high at all. at the same time, i had a friend who ate 40 mgs with me that night who was puking every 10-15 minutes for hours because he took too much. Then i skipped the whole oxy phase and went strait to doing 10ths of high quality east coast tristate area heroin, where as most of my friends couldn't do more than a 1/4th to start.

So basically my point is, that in order to maintain any sort of harm reduction you need to learn your bodies tolerance, and how quickly it metabolizes drugs as well as how quickly your own tolerance goes down after removing the drugs. Always start small, and remember, You can take more later, but once you take something youve taken it and theres no going back. Be safe, have fun, and watch your habit. ;)

So the point is that everyone is different and ONLY YOU can ever know what a safe dose is to take for yourself. So keep track of your tolerance, and always live by this drug motto - "You can ALWAYS take more, however you can NEVER take less."

So don't risk anything, after ANY ammount of clean time. even just a day or two, start small and work your way back up.

I meant DECREASED.
Sorry. Edited it now haha.

I started at 20 and built up...feeling pretty good at 70mg..probably how I would have felt at 90-100mg before, so tolerance slightly down.

I can't stay off it. Apart from the fact that I don't want to :P - I have legitimate chronic pain so I really need a lot of pain killers.

There won't be a very significant tolerance change after only 36 hours, no. It usually takes a few days-a week if you were a heavy user for your tolerance to even start to dip. The stories you're referring too are from people coming out of detox or rehab for weeks or months, then thinking they can do the same dose, and OD'ing. Not just 36 hours.

Thanks. I thought I didn't detect much of a difference. Just thought I'd ask, though. You can't be too careful.

after that short of a time it's only the first dose that'll feel stronger
