Afgan Heroin???

Hmm thats strange. I always assumed that the east coast was mostly supplied by Columbia. Even the DEA site says:

Four foreign source areas produce the heroin available in the United States: South America (Colombia), Mexico, Southeast Asia (principally Burma), and Southwest Asia (principally Afghanistan). However, South America and Mexico supply most of the illicit heroin marketed in the United States. Maybe its the north east only that gets supplied by Afghan sources, as I'm fairly certain the hard tan rock heroin i used to use down here in Atlanta was from South America. What kind of consistency/color is the dope where you live 6/7?

The trafficking trends of different drugs and substances interest me greatly.
 
Then on the Michigan state drug fact sheet on the DEA site, there is this:

the dope around me is a very light tan/off white mainly.

occasionally (read: not very often) its dark brown. As I say later in this post, though, I have been seeing the same dealer for a long time now who always has the same stuff, so Im not aware of the different types going around the rest of the city. To me, it seems like this dope is more popular, but now that I think about, taking into consideration what I hear from other users in my area, what I get is the minority of what is going around. Whats popular is dark tan. Off white is very uncommon.

I know what im about to say is hear-say, but the guy I get the dope from says it comes from Nigeria by way of Afghanistan. He is very uneducated on these matters, so for him to know the specifics like that, and for them to be exactly the same as what National Geographics heroin special said, it leads to me believe that it is factual.

It may not be the case for the entire North East, as Detroit was the only city they mentioned specifically (besides New York.)

EDIT - What you just quoted confirms this post. It says Africa is one of the most common areas its supplied from. Africa gets it from Afghanistan. Also, It says metropolitan Detroit area is supplied by Asia (Afghanistan) and metropolitan Detroit is where Im located. It makes sense that non-asian dope is more abundant. It may just be that I havent seen any other type of dope around in a long time because I dont use as much, but when I was using daily, it was darker and more consistent with Sout American dope. Since I only go to one guy now and have been for a while, I always see the same stuff, so to me, it seems like thats whats common, when in fact, what Im getting is the exception.

It also confirms that Detroit is a shipment hub, just like NG said. The dope comes from New York and is shipped out even further from here (Detroit.)

Dont you think that parts of Africa could produce Heroin as easily as Afgahnistan does? One day some resourseful Africans will get with the program and start growing and produceing their own stuff.
 
Africa is also a transshipment point for dope coming from SEA.

The easiest way to tell that your dope is not from Afghanistan is by how it dissolves. If it readily dissolves without an added acid, it's most likely not from Afghanistan. The vast majority of their dope is base...
