Hi guys,

Just a quick question which hope can be answered -

I have seen some cheap scales (£15-40) floating about that are supposedly mg scales, 20grams to 0.001g (ebay etc. all around the internet for purchase in UK - not discussing sources).

Wondered if anyone knew or had experience with mg scales at this price (sold as diamond scales I think) - will this money give accuracy?

I was just a bit skeptical as can buy 0.1g scales for the same price!

Any thoughts/ideas/advice really appreciated,

Thanks,

xNx

I'd be seriously doubtful about their quality and accuracy for that price.

I think I paid several times that for some decent (but not top range) 0.01g electronic scales.

Yeah thought that would be the case :(

So I am guessing over £100 for decent ones?

Might give it a gamble although think will just end up dissapointed!

Need some 0.001s though!

Thanks for help, anyone else have exp of buying seemingly ridiculously cheap mg scales? Imported from Hong Kong :/

You are allowed to discuss sources of scales, because it's harm reduction.

I wouldn't trust those scales to be accurate at the milligram level, and I bet it would break within a few months. I think you would be better off saving your money to get this scale:

I have had that one for years and it has always worked good.

So I am guessing over £100 for decent ones?

Might give it a gamble although think will just end up dissapointed!
Well, you're not just gambling with your money, you are gambling with your health and sanity. I would never do it. I think my life is worth more than a few hundred dollars or pounds that I would save by buying one of those. YMMV

Thanks for that, and I agree that need accuracy.

The ones I mentioned were these:

I am in the UK and have seen this same model in various places for sale - noticed that some places sell them at up to $100.

Likely though, as you said, they will probably break - I guess an optimistic part of me thinks they might be OK!

Cheers,

N

I don't know much about that one, but I personally wouldn't buy it.

You might get better responses if you posted this question in the scale thread in PD. Somebody there probably has experience with that particular scale.

various powders, for some would like to have mg accuracy, others not too important and 0.1/0.01 would suffice -

lots of people have recommended acculab vic-123 scales ~£260-280, with 1 milligram increments. am actually looking to get some myself and these seem the best for price have heard some rumbling about the weight drifting tho. there is info on this website n on the net that can help reduce this. now my question is where can i get one in the uk looked at acculabes website n i think they only do company accounts.... obviously im not a company any ideas? dont want to be put on a gov list or summin n dont rele trust ebay for stuff like this especially when some of the things are alot cheaper on ebay than from the parent company.

Ps if you find some scales at a reasonable price max 300 please tell me :)
gd luck on your search nelios

Cheapo' milligram scales

CHEAP MILLIGRAM SCALES

These things (by AMW etc) actually do work! the 0.00(0) The single milligram seems to go up in twos, though and you have to keep it flat, still, and not too cold! and hold your breath !!!

Also KEEP YOUR MOBILE PHONE AWAY! interference seems to fuck up the circuitry.

However, anyone wanting to measure out doses of pcp ,alprazolam, LSA's or any powerful ''RDs'', - should buy the best they can!

American or German made scales are probably better made and longer lasting.

I have friends who use the cheap ones and theyre still alive, so I guess some of them are OK

I have a friend that has one of those cheap .001 scales and it always works great. He bought his from deal extreme. I've used it many times and it has never failed me yet.

I'm not sure if measuring 1mg on a 1mg scale is the best idea. I seem to remember something about on digital scales assuming a tolerance of 1X the minimum resolution of the scale. Eg 1mg could be 0-2mg.

Analogue was half the minimum resolution so from 0.5mg to 1.5mg - I guess because you can see when it's about half way between.

I'm not nearly an expert but I thought this info could be important.

^welcome to bluelight!

thanks for sharing this info. though this thread is old and borderline regional. so i'm gonna go ahead and close it.
