Harm Reduction Advice needed - Pins & Needles down right arm after femoral injection

Hi, something strange just happened and I wondered if anyone could advise.

I just injected a mixture of UK brown heroin and crack into my femoral vein. A second or two after finishing the injection I got a strong rush of pins and needles down my right arm and my little finger spasmed, this lasted for about 3 seconds.

Can anyone offer any advise as to what just happened, I didn't miss the shot and I'm pretty sure I didn't hit a nerve or artery.

You tapped a nerve. I wouldnt sweat it. You probly didnt hit the big groiner nerve but there are alot of fucking nerves in your body. Are you still having probs?
 
I *think* you hit a nerve. I would also posit to guess that it would have been much worse without the coke to numb it up for ya :\

I also wanted to add though that sometimes it's hard to know when you've missed when injecting cocaine or crack because of the numbing effects.
 
The pins n needles is possibly a histamine release.

Some people are more sensitive than others. Also some heroin which has not been deacetylated to the best of abilty in the synth will result in a higher morphine content and morphine is notorious for its histamine releasr, especially through the IV route.

You can counteract histamine reactions with antihistamines such as promethszine, diphenhydramine and dimenhydrinate. You can google or search here for further info.

I usually mix a bit of benadryl (diphenhydramine) in my shots of morphine. It doesnt take much. I use the type that comes in powdered form in a capsule. Im not sure how healthy it is, but I do filter it. I dont see how it could be any worse than injecting morphine or heroin but like I said Im not positive. I do know it stops pins and needles. Personally When I do 60 mgs or more of morphine I get pins and needles heavy and a third of a benadryl stops it. I remember having the insides of my ears and the bottoms of my feet itch post injection so it seems worth the extra seconds of prep to add a bit of benadryl. Just what I do. But like I said I have not looked into the health aspects of it, but the strain of intense pins and needles cant be good either. I personally enjoy my morphine without pins and needles alot more. As far as what happened I think you tapped a nerve. You said you injected crack. How did you break it down. Most people I know use vinegar which I know is not good for you. I have injected cocaine, but never broken down crack to cocaine to inject. Injecting broken down crack seems like its not a great idea. I have seen people produce crack and well some of the ingredients are a bit "questionable" such as raid and amonia. Really it only takes baking soda, water, and cocaine. The amonia makes it rock up a bit easier but is unnecsary. I really cannot imagine what god forsaken reason raid was added but these are not the type of people Id really ask alot of questions if you get my drift.
