Opioids Advice Getting Started with Bupe Tapering Plan

Alright, so over the past couple months or so, my opiate tolerance has gone WAY up -- to the point where I need to at least take a break to bring my tolerance down. Right now I can do 160mg of oxymorphone (opana) up my nose in a 12 hour period and be COMPLETELY FINE. I am scripted suboxone and I'm ready to start a plan to get rid of all the opiates. Does anyone have a suggested plan as far as cutting the amount of sub I do every day (under tongue, up nose, etc). I have plenty of sub, so that is not an issue.

Also, how long does it typically take being off of opiates for my tolerance to be extremely lowered (to the point where 30mg of oxy will actually get me "feeling good" -- a feeling that I haven't really felt in months.

Basically I'm looking for a plan to cut ties with suboxone entirely by tapering. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks guys.

It will take a long time and a lot of work for "30mg of oxy" to make you feel good if 160mg of opana is your current dose.

If you want to get on suboxone, what you need to do is wait until you are properly sick (runny nose, yawning, sweating, goosebumps). This usually occurs after 12-24+ hours after your last dose. Wait until you feel like you are seriously dope-sick because if you don't, you will experience precipitated withdrawal, which is one of the worst feelings a human being can experience.

After you feel dope-sick, you should do half a pill/strip to get used to it, and then constantly lower your dose until you feel comfortable. A lot of people are prescribed 16mg a day but only take 1mg a day. This is the kind of regiment you want to stick with. A low dose of subocone daily with a large prescription dose. This way, you can have months to years of extra suboxone available.

IMO, 30mg of oxy will never have you feeling "good" again. Even before my habit was where it is now (now i do 1-2 opana 40s/day average, or w/e i can get my hands on), when i quit for my longest time of several months (after only a habit of a few blues/day) even after all those months, 30mg of oxy never had me high again.

I wouldn't expect it to ever happen again. I wouldn't ever want to go back to "just once in awhile" after you get clean. It NEVER WORKS OUT LIKE THAT MAN. We opiate addicts cannot use occassionally, we just cant. that one day turns into one weekend turns into one week, so on and so fourth.

Just kick for as long as you can, dont kick just so you can go back to 30mg/oc. Even if you DO feel good from that 30mg oc, your tolerance will skyrocket again real quick, so that 2nd day you'll already need 60-90mg.

Just dont go into getting clean with the intent of using again. Thats not the point of getting clean.

Best of luck mate.r

In my opinion, if you are only trying to get clean or reduce your dose in order to once again get high, you will fail. It will only work if you're doing it to get totally clean. But either way, why go through all the trouble? If you just stop your suboxone abruptly, say for one week, and then take a small amount of oxy when you're feeling sick, you could probably reset things and go from there...
