Got a few questions as a soon to be first-timer, please excuse me if there's been a million related threads before.

Next week I'm planning on rolling for the first time at a music festival... I've heard plenty of stories about overheating/dehydration, so the first question is, is this a bad idea for my first ever trip (I'll be doing it with 3 other 1st timers as well). It doesn't start until 5PM so hopefully the heat/sun combo won't be brutal.

Third... should I bring weed for the comedown? I'm a daily smoker.

Well I heard you should drink at least a bottle of water every hour, to me it seems like a little too much but if you're gonna be dancing and what not you might want to. It's not a bad idea but just be cautious of what you're doing because dancing will definitely make you sweat. I don't smoke weed so I wouldn't know about that, from what people have told it's either going to boost up your roll again or make the comedown easier, maybe both, but that's just what i heard.

I feel like theres this huge wave of new users who don't actually find this site by researching and just go here cause they heard people know stuff here... every other thread.

I was at an event for about 9 hours and I only drank a few water bottles (that I shared with all my friends)

Hydrate in proportion to how much you are sweating...

I've also rolled during the day and drank no water.

You will be fine.

Read about this stuff though

if you like weed why wouldn't you bring it? it just makes the comedown much more enjoyable

When it comes to drinking water: just remind yourself to drink, but don't overdo it. Best advice I've ever heard still is: drink water when you feel like you need to. Don't go crazy paranoid. (I did that once, it didn't feel good. I ended up placing a bucket next to me bed and peeing every 15 minutes for like 3 hours.)
Stay hydrated, try not only drinkign water but take in some salts as well, especially when sweating a lot. Maybe have a go at the sports drinks (the ones with all those nice figures about the quantities of what's in there on the back ;-).)

When it comes to the weed: don't know, only from what I've read. Read around a bit more, stay(/get) informed!

Have fun!

Drink when you're thirsty.
If you noticed you haven't had any drinks for a while, gradually start to drink.

And that's a big fat yes on the weed for the comedown.

I always figure about a decent sized bottle of water for every 2 hours, unless you're dancing a lot.
Drink when you're thirsty seems to be the answer around here though.
Sports drinks are great, taste good and may be better than water.

And a definite yes on the weed

To answer your questions opposite the order they were cast:

A bit of the cannabizz wouldn't hurt after the roll, keep in mind though that marijuana is a stimulant, and mixing something like MDMA and THC can cause heart palpitations if you're already susceptible. I wouldn't trip though, you'd know if you had heart problems.

The sun shouldn't be that big an issue, but I suggest you save the rollin' until she sets, anyway. The music is generally better, and that way you can roll through the end of the festival, rather than coming down with two hours to go and just being tired (let alone a little ornery). Drink when your thirsty, don't feel obligated to take down litres of water just because you're on E.

A music festival is an excellent setting for a first-time roll. Depending on how legitimate/massive it is, paramedics should be on-staff, in the unlikely event that something were to happen. Contrast this with a rolling party at a friend's house, where the terrible question of "what to do if a friend gets sick" arises. There's no harder question than whether you should take your friend to the hospital and suffer the possible legal ramifications versus giving them time to recover without proper medical treatment and risking their life, especially when you've got a head full of thizz and both a powerful conscience and fear of the police. I've been there before, it's never pretty.

Happy rolling! Spread the love.
