I have severe social anxiety from long ago , had few times sexual relations but finished in less than 3 min which was quite bad since then i am single all ready many years , its just soo hards with so many problems , if anyone suffers all those symptoms maybe can undersand me, tried many therapeutic exercises but nothing worked .

I will go to Doctor next week and after reading long time in forums about all kind of medicine such Benzos and Srrs i will tell him to prescribe me something for logn term use, the problem comes that i am afraid of wd that you all coment of how bad they really can be if one day stop use theme.

Also after reading i think the best for my case would be something like fluoxetine ( Prozac ) as it has very long half life so maybe can take 1 pill every 3 days and the wd from it are less brutal than from other ssrr´s , all this i am talking about long term use !

I have never taked any antidepressant so i don´t know what you feel on theme, but can someone tell me if taking this Prozac one person can have normal life like doing sport , lift weights , so on ... or you will feel sleepy every time ? Because in my job i need to be in constant movement.

Thank you for attention.

Hey, and welcome to Bluelight.

With SSRI's you generally try an assortment until you find the one that works best for you - from your doctor. I personally have a similar problem and sertraline or zoloft works for me... It is really best to address this with your doctor and see what insight you get. After all, there are a lot of drugs to treat depression/anxiety etc, not just SSRI's.

"had few times sexual relations but finished in less than 3 min which was quite bad since: - that's not that bad granted but the medication did the complete opposite to me. Maybe post that in Sex Love Relationships the lovely bunch can help :)

Apart from that, I when I'm medicated I feel like myself - happy, confident and silly. The greatest thing is being able to consider/do things you would have never thought you would have done previously. I hope you find something that works for u.

be prepared for the sexual side effects many SSRI's are notorious for
idk maybe the sexual side effects will be in your favor i went for 2 hrs once well give or take while on zoloft though i never did finish my gf had a hell of a time haha
many people seem to think gabapentin is worth checking out for SA

I have been on several SSRI's throughout the past 15 or so years, and I found prozac (fluoxetine) to work best for me... depression troubles me more than anxiety. I had previously been on citalopram, which gave me brain zaps when I stopped taking it... btw: they were more annoying than anything, nothing at all like w/d from opiates.... I had also been on welbutrin, but had bad headaches on that... some other stuff before that. My doctor was great... he understood my reluctance to try another SSRI when I was getting the prozac... I was given 10 mg capsules, and could take as few as 1 each morning, and had permission to slowly go up to 40 mg per day. I think taking an SSRI is more effective at a low dose on a daily basis than every 3 days on a higher basis, as they need to consistently build up to a level in our blood stream to be effective. We all are unique when it comes to SSRI's... and the only think I encourage you to do is to be persistent.. take the prozac at least for 2 months before deciding to give it up(unless you have a bad reaction to it, which is rare)... and if it doesn't work after two months, talk to your doctor and try another. There are a lot of them out there, and when you get the right one, it is a good thing. By the way: on Prozac, I felt as energetic as ever... it did not have any sedating effect so I was never drowsy on it... citalopram was the one that caused me to end up sleeping 12 hours a night!
