I am currently prescribed suboxone for opiod dependency. I have been on it for about 6 months. For the first 5 months I was taking my prescribed dose, 8 mgs, like I was supposed to, sublingually. Then, my doc decided to start a taper. I dropped down to 6 mgs for 2 weeks and now I'm down to 4 mgs a day. Problem is, I started iving my suboxone in multiple divided doses throughout the day. At first, shooting it gave me a nice subtle buzz for a couple of hours. Suboxone doesn't give you a rush when ived, only a faster onset and higher BA. It's gotten to the point where I barely feel the suboxone anymore. I just get well. So, this is where I am now. Any advice on what I should do? I have been reading these threads for years so I know what I got myself into. I created another addiction and gained back my needle fascination. How do other people feel about IV suboxone?

Hi there, welcome!
I don't know about IV sub... in fact, I've been really considering going on suboxone or methadone lately for my addiction.
I totally hear you about the needle fascination though. It's hard to quit the ritual, let alone quitting the drug.

SWIM has gotten to the point where he wants to get high again. That fascination went away for a while but one day, SWIM decided to buy some coke. That decision has had a ripple effect on SWIMs life. Now, SWIM wants to get high all the time. Keep in mind that SWIM enjoys amphetamines frequently, too. SWIM cannot function without amphetamines ( preferably oral dexadrine/adderal but is prescribed 50 mg vyvanse a day, which gets SWIM by). Crack is also a major factor in SWIMS life, for the time being. He tries to smoke that stuff just once a week because it is so expensive. But back to suboxone... It seems the longer SWIM waits to dose, the greater the effects of the medicine. SWIM also doesn't experience PWs because he doesn't use any other opiates. Sometimes it feels like SWIM wastes his suboxone because he doses so often. He doesn't always stick to just 4 mg a day. Sometimes he does up to 8 mg iv spread out. SWIM hopes to lower his dose and only do around 2 mg a day total so he can conserve and eventual get off suboxone.
