I've been using soma for around a month now 350mg 3 times per day.

Now I'm taking around 2-3 Somas a day and am curious if there is a way to wean off them. I don't even know how they work which makes it harder. If it was just a Gaba thing, I'd taper using benzos which I have readily accessible. But I think there is something else going on with it...

Does this mean that i haven't built a tolerance?
How easy/quick does tolerance develop wtih Soma?
How would one taper off something like Soma?

Also, as a related topic, is Meprobamate. If this the drug I'm really addicted to in effect?

Also, I have access to some of Meprobamate if I want, if that helps any and I am curious to try this one out as well so experiences are welcome. Obviously this is listed under HR but that doesn't mean I want a bunch of people telling me to stop right now or anything.

I'm just more concerned with Soma dependencen/WD as well as the effects of Meprobamate. Maybe Meprobamate is better suited for my purposes....?

So, any comparisons between the two are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Oh you're good don't worry, only 1 month!

I was on them daily a few years ago for 3 months (I think I was at around 1g the last days), quit cold turkey, no problem.
I had some lorazepam around, and since I was benzo-naive it might have helped.

But seriously, for one month don't worry too much, maybe have some benzo around for a few days, diazepam (valium) would be perfect since it has "myorelaxing" properties, but any should do.

I use to take somas every day for several months & when they ran out, I had no problems at all.

Only reason they are scheduled is because any med that you can mix in a cocktail & potentiate is a no no in the clowns that try to control us eyes.

Also, like you stayed, they make you feel good & forget your problems, now we can't have that is the thought process of the clowns that schedule soma......anything that makes you feel good & suppresses bad thoughts isn't good for you. They rather prescribe antidepressants to mess up your head

I'm amazed you are still able to abuse/get high off them. Tolerance builds so fast with soma. I was on them for months, and after week 2, I had to take 4x350mg's to get a high that didn't last long. Big pills too. I mainly stopped to prevent kidney/liver damage and they stopped working.

At that time I looked into Mepro and the verdict was to stick with somas. If you're trying to quit; cold turkey is easy IMO. I had a similar addiction as you. One thing to remember is most of is mental. You need to break the routine you were in. Soma isn't that physically addicting. I stopped taking it and felt lazy for a half a month and returned to back to "normal".

If this is a tolerance break I suggest 6 months atleast if you truly want to enjoy somas again.

If this is truly medical, you need to seek a doctor who deals with pain IMO. Muscle relaxers only help so much.

Good luck; you can do it.
