Hi guys and gals.

Long time lurker and first time poster.

I damaged my shoulder 2 years ago and got addicted to 30mg Codiene tablets and took me 3 weeks to get off.

The codiene did nothing for my muscle pain, so they went onto lyrica 75mg 3 times a day and 2mg diazepam 3 times a day.

Again this was not stopping the pain so the doctors told me to increase to Lyrica 150mg 3 Times a day and 5mg Diazepam 3 times a day.

This stopped the pain but the side effects were pretty bad and have been off work for 6 weeks and now got into a bit of depression.

My work is paying for a CBT - Cognigitve Behavour Therapist to see what he can do as their doctor said half the muscle pain could be down to posture and not feeling myself being at home not doing anything.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I am addicted to Lyrica and Diazepam.

I am now down to Lyrica 75mg 2 x a day and 4mg Diazepam 2 x times a day.

I am finding this very hard, but plugging through.

But I have come across 300mg Gabapentin, Is this stronger than 75mg Lyrica, and could I just stop the Lyrica and start taking the Gaba?

The Gaba is my ex wifes and she gave me 3 strips as she had spinal fusion.

Whats your thoughts, as this is the first time I have been addicted so bad to this stuff, it makes codiene look like a summer holiday and want to be clean when I get back to work.

Also I have lost 100% of my sex drive on Lyrica.

Thanks again

I too take lyrica, 3x 150 day plus klonopim 2 mg and a hell of a cocktail with. I am afraid of becoming a zombie cause I dont want to hurt anyone. As for me I dont care much. I feel druggie and my vyvanse isnt giving me euphoria so im craving coke and snorting soon as I have money. See I cant help you much, I only can say to you that lyrica is the new GHB and its abused by opiates addicts and also I have got absurdly high on this stuff. Anyways I am bipolar and it seems PGB got me dull, flat. I liked the ups and downs from vyvanse, i could feel alive, i guess euphoric, but ohh I need this. Sorry I missed the point. I dont think you are doomed. Not really. Diazepam has a loong half life and so os the best benzo to taper off. Lyrica can be a beast for you. Again, I dont think so, people take more than a gram prescribed per day, even if you are small and thinnest possible you still are in a light dose. Talk to your psychologist to teach you techniques of respiration, muscle tension and relaxation. Dont freak out and try to avoid thinking of it. At least a bit you will suffer, no pain no gain. Or no gain with no pain. Good luck !

I wish to know how different does pregabalin feels compared to gabapentin. What is your opinion ? And as far as potency I dont know the equivalence per mg but you can find it pretty easy.
