Soooo sorry if theres already a thread for this, i'm really new to this.

Basically i started taking adderall [ started with 3 of the 15mg] and built up a tolerance already, where now im taking 5 of the 15 mg just to get the slightest buzz from it and not just be wide awake. i wanna know how many mgs is TOO much to take in one day?
and also, if i stop taking the adderall for a little while will my tolerance go back down?

again, sorry if theres already a thread like this!
 
The trick with add meds, is a controlled release, no peaks/valleys, once a day dosing, and low dose
 
yea...i wasn't really told anything about adderall when it was given to me by a friend, other than the kinda feeling i would have. so i started kind of high when i first took it, not knowing i shouldve started low until AFTER id taken them. and also id take 1 more 15mg pill throughout the day whenever id start feeling like it wasnt as intense...but now im starting to think i just kinda screwed myself by doing that.
 
Just give yourself a few days off if you can. Adderall tolerance builds really quickly, and it falls pretty quickly for me 4-7 days and I'm good again, usually. Then you can start over.
 
Awesome, so if i take like a week or so off it i should be good? it kinda sucks having my tolerance kinda up there, cause then they run out pretty quick ;/
 
I reallly wouldnt bother with adderall, ups and downs after a whle lead to negative effects
 
it seems like the use is more recreational than therapeutic. if you have ADD you are doing yourself a disservice, i think after youve been on it for a while and run out and have a tolerance your focus will dissipate (well it would without ADD too, that's just rebound, but it'd be worse with it)

are you able to keep it to a buzz like once a week, with the rest of the use therapeutic? you indicated you haven't been on it for a while, you may be in an intense "honeymoon stage"

yes tolerance eventually goes down. depends on how long youve used and how frequently
 
it is more for recreational purposes, i do have ADD but i didnt start taking it for that, Though it did help me with being able to make myself be able to write again, but it was just an added bonus.

i havent been using it long at all, but i have been taking up to 75mg close to everyday, a few days off here and there, not more than maybe 2 days off though.
 
adderall is never fun to take. I always regret it at some point in the day. I wanna get switched and try dexedrine but I heard its lame.

To the op...

IDK its hard to say it differs on how much an individual can take each day, in terms of your question on how much should be the max... I use to be rx'ed 25 mg Adderall IR 3 x daily... 75mg. I am on vyvanse now only 70mg a day and its not enough and my doc won't up it so I am forced to redose throughout the day, but I run out early and get some sobriety time away from it. Even as a medication I do not want to take that shit every single day... well yes my addicted self would if I had infinite amounts of any Dexamp for that matter, but now I'm glad for my health's sake that I have to wait 10 days or so to get more. Shit I took one at 12am last night (slept by 5am lol, 11 hour medication what?) just to get rid of my last pill so I wouldn't feel "teased" and fiend for that shit today.

I'll take two or three of those vyvanse though sometimes a day, thats somewhere around 90mg (not counting the dimesylate salts molecular weight difference) dexamphetamine sulphate.

sorry if my spelling was off on that salt name.

I don't binge though I generally sleep and eat every day. I rarely fuck around with binging and malnourishment these days like I did back 2 years ago with dexedrine.

I might be one of the vocal few that say its lame. I don't like it myself, and get prescribed it and Adderall together, but I only take my Adderall and just save up my Dexedrine for when I run out of the Adderall.


OP, you sound like you enjoy stimulants but do not plan to work with them. Take a few days off and it will be good again. Eat baking soda during or before and it will be stronger.
 
Ohhhh Adderall the very first pill I took 8)

Honestly it was the worst experience I ever had and turned me off of pills for like 3 years since I had no idea what they were or what they were supposed to do. I just remember taking a shit ton before home room, puking my guts out and staying home for 3 days from school because I felt funny haha.
 
ah. yea...i basically fell in love with it. but yea...it definately sounds like im just gonna have to take a break....does it have any effect on my tolerance going down for adderall if im still taking like somas and xanax and stuff while im not taking the adderall?
 
How much Adderall is too much Adderall really depends on the individual & their tolerance. It's really impossible to give any specific mg amount that is "too much".
&, yes, refraining from taking Adderall for a little bit will help your tolerance go down. But keep in mind that people's bodies "remember" tolerances; in other words, however much your tolerance goes down, once you start taking Adderall again it will go up again much quicker than it did before you had ever had a tolerance to it at all.
 
I loved railing adderall the few times I was able to. Usually with opiates I say the amount safe is what your tolerance can handle, the human body is an amazing thing and can adjust to many things. But because adderall speeds up the heart and Im not a vet using the drug I would never give an opinion. Opiates do cause respiratory depression though so you would assume more would = increased resp. depression, but depending on your tolerance it may not. Not sure if it works that way the other way around with amphetamines.
