Adderall XR vs Vyvanse euphoria/motivation

Hi! I was on Vyvanse 50mg, but I just switched to Adderall XR (starting with 10mg and gradually going up) because Vyvanse gave me a horrible crash after more or less 5 hours at any doses I tried (40, 50, 60mg). I do not have the intention to use it recreationnally, I use it for ADD and in same time I'd be very pleased if it could help me deal with my major depression symptoms as well as my anxiety symptoms like Vyvanse did (before the crash). So to people who actually tried both, how would you compare the euphoria/motivation of both medications at comparable doses? Thank you in advance guys!

P.S.: At non-recreationnal doses, will I develop a tolerance to the medication where I need to increase the dose so the medication can actually work?
 
I have narcolepsy so I need it to last all day so Adderall xr Vyvanse no difference IMO given equal amphetamine IE 30 mg = ~ 90 mg

I don't like Adderall it because I like having the slow comeup and long smooth effects

Plus I like xr because I don't get peaks and valleys over the day or have to worry about dosing
 
Vyvanse gets converted to Adderall. All Vyvanse is is Adderall with a lysine amino group attached to it so your body takes longer to break it down. And Adderall xr is just Adderall made into beeds so they slowly break down. Both Vyvanse and Adderall xr deliver the same drug it's equalpotient just the molar mass of dextroamphetamine is 30 percent the molar mass of lyseine-dextroamphetamine
 
1 molecular equivalent of Adderall is equal in potency of 1 molecular equivalent of Vyvanse

Therefore it is molar mass of dextroamphetamine/the molar mass of lisdexamphetamine

The value is 0.3

If you really wanted to be specific Adderall is 75℅ dextro 25 % levo

So if you want an equal mg amount of dextroamphetamine 100 mg of vyvanse is basically 30-37.5 mg of Adderall xr.
 
Basically,

100 mg of vyvanse is roughly equal
To 30-37.5 mg of Adderall xr
Which is roughly equal to 15-18.75 mg of Adderall instant release twice per day *

Thanks for the info! Also does the motivation given by both meds feel the same or is it different?
 
The only thing is some people claim Adderall has more physical side effects due to the levo amphetamine. But at theraputic doses I don't notice any difference.

In terms of motivation the number one difference is you can break up Adderall xr beads to make it instant release but you can't make vyvanse instant release.

But I don't like instant release because I find if you absorb a bunch of amphetamine at once in a short period of time instead of productive focus I find myself on pornhub instead of doing what I was planning on doing or really high doses in instant release I just feel edgy like jumpy not focused.
 
Yeah sure, I also prefer extended-release because of that. Tell me, since you seem to know about these meds, 10mg/15mg/20mg/25mg of Adderall XR is comparable to what dose of Vyvanse?

Thanks! How will I know when I'm at the dose where it starts working for me? How will I feel it kicking in?
 
I take xr and feel maximum effects at 8 hours. So like right now I got up and took it at 11 and put on some judge duty till 3 while it comes on

Neither I think you are confused. Drug companies can't patient dextroamphetamine. So they added a amino acid to dextroamphetamine so now they technically have a new chemical. Now they need a reason to patient this new chemical so they claim it is harder to abuse because it's inactive unlike your body breaks of the amino acid. This also slowly the rate by which dextroamphetamine enters the bloodstream. However ingesting vyvanse or Adderall xr both slowly release the active drug dextroamphetamine.
 
Vyvanse is lysine(lis)DEXTROAMPHETAMINE

Adderall xr is
Dextroamphetamine 75℅ levoamphetamine 25℅

Dexedrine is dextroamphetamine 100 percent

When the patient ran out on dexedrine it was considered addictive and abusable. Conviently a formulation called Adderall is supposed to make it unable to be abused and just so happens is patentable. Adderall soon last it's patent and could be made generic. And it just so happens Adderall is now thought to carry a significant abuse potential and addicting. And it just so happens adding a inactive lysine to dextroamphetamine which is rapidly removed off after you swallow it is now said to nonabusable because you can't snort it and therefore nonaddicting and it just so happens you can patent it. This isn't official it's just my speculation.

Adderall xr = amphetamine
Vyvanse = amphetamine
 
So which one produces more dextroamphetamine? And does that mean both meds are similar in the feeling they give us?
 
All you do is multiple the vyvanse by .3 or multiple Adderall xr in mg x3

It's a few posts up it has roughly equal amounts for each drug think of it like it's in excel the first set of numbers vertically are equal and so on . The - in Adderall xr numbers are the values for equal amphetamine or equal dextroamphetamine
 
So if the amount is about the same then it should produce the same amount of motivation for both of them at an equivalent dose?
