Hello everyone
I'm new to this site, so I apologize in advance if I say or do something wrong.
I'm a 22 y/o female who recently started taking 1 20mg XR a day for ADHD. At the appointment, my psychiatrist asked me if I would rather have extended release, or immediate release. I told him I didn't really know what would be better. So he started me on the 20mg XR once a day. I've taken it for 3 days now, and have been taking it between 8-10am every day, as they told me to take it in the morning. I can tell a difference the medicine is making..however it seems like it takes awhile to kick in, and once it does it comes and goes in spurts, for about 8 hours. My problem is that I work 2-11PM and find it wears off before my shift ends. I fear if I take it later in the day, I won't be able to sleep at night as I already have a hard time sleeping when I take it in the morning.
My question is what is better in your opinion, the XR, or IR. I go back to my doctor next week and would like to have some opinions before discussing with him what I should do.
Thank you in advance!
