Hello all, I have been on zoloft/ativan for about 6 months now with a psych doc nearby. I talked to him about maybe giving me a prescript for add xr to see if that would help with some of my focusing issues and he refused ( I am a med student and I think he thought I was just trying to get a study drug). I thus asked some of my friends about docs who might be willing to give me an add xr prescription and eventually found one. I ended up getting the add xr from the new physch doc but am still getting the zoloft/ativan prescrips from the old psych doc as well. I have not told either that I am going to the other and thus they do not know I am taking both meds. With that in mind, how bad is this situation? Obviously I would prefer if neither found out about this little shindig but if I had to make a choice, I would drop the old doc (with the zoloft/ativan) and keep this new doc. Anyone have any advice and/or personal experience with this? I do not think this constitutes as doctor shopping as they aren't the same medication and not pain killers but still... I'd rather not have any felonies or anything else like that on my record if possible. As stated before, I am a medical student who fully understands the contraindications between these drugs and know the signs and symptoms for serotonin syndrome (possible side affects). In fact I think I would actually be fine to stop taking the Zoloft as I feel like i can get by easily without but would prefer the ativan for those extra stressful situations. Anyways, any input would be most appreciated. Thanks
