Adderall vs. Methamphetamine potency

I've been taking Adderall for over 2 years now and have been having stronger and stronger side effects (irritability, sweating, anxiety.) My prescribed dose is the same, but the positive effects aren't as pronounced as they used to be. I've tried quitting for short periods of time, but need massive amounts of caffeine to function and get super depressed after like 6 days. I am definitely mentally and slightly physically dependent on this substance. How similar is it to meth?

Moving from you Adderall Rx to methamphetamine doesn't sound like a decent idea in any light. Even desoxyn is sketchy in my opinion.

^This. Methamphetamine is considerably more potent than Adderall. Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) is a nice middle ground between the two and is a lot easier on your body. Methamphetamine is more neuro toxic at lower dosages and can cause much worse problems than Adderall can. As I mentioned before, Dexedrine may be the best bet for you. Speak to your doctor about it.

You're experiencing issues with tolerance. If you switch up to a super potent and long lasting stimulant amphetamine (like methamphetamine) your tolerance will only go up even faster and your Adderall will work even less.

Your best bet is to take a break from your Adderall or at least reduce the dosage for a while so your tolerance goes down. Another way to help is to make sure you are eating enough and getting enough sleep. Supplements like vitamin C, L-tyrosine, 5-HTP, magnesium and B-vitamins help a lot too.

Short version: The last thing you wanna do to fix your amphetamine tolerance issue is to take a more powerful amphetamine.

So in short. An amphetamine addiction isn't going so well so you want to supplement it with methamphetamine?

Bad idea.

Methamphetamine is much more potent than adderall. I've never done meth but I've done amphetamines and knowing that they do the same basic things to your brain, meth just doing it 10x more strong, would lead me to believe that that adderall feeling is there on meth. I hope you're not planning on replacing one with the other because like trip said bad idea...
