Hello everyone!
I want someone's input on SWIM'S adderall tolerance and possible biological/neurocognitive factors for having it be so high.
SWIM took her first adderall exactly a year ago, in June; it was 5 mg IR. SWIM did not get super "high" or happy, but did get a slight tingling sensation in her brain. SWIM'S focus and mood did get elevated. SWIM did not supplement my pill with anything, and SWIM slept for about 6 hours that night.

SWIM took her second pill exactly a month later, in July, and it was 20 mg IR. It hit her instantly, and she felt a great euphoria. SWIM also had a cup of coffee that night (and she did not eat anything before!) to elevate the high. She did not sleep that night at all.

Again, she took her third pill 20 mg IR about 3 weeks later, in August, and felt great again, same rush, same duration. However, now that she knew how great Adderall feels, she wanted to prolong the duration of the "high", so she took another 10 mg and had about 3 cups of coffee that night. SWIM did not sleep at all, and took another 10mg in the morning with a cup of coffee. SWIM did not eat during the day, but had about 2 more cups of coffee.

SWIM took about a 2 month break with complete abstenance from addy, but she did do 2 tabs of acid, a pill of pure MDMA, and a pill of ecstasy in between. When she took a 20mg IR pill again in October, she did not feel high at all. However, SWIM was prescribed an SSRI, Celexa, which was her hypothesis as to why addy did not feel happy again. She was not even remotely "adderall happy". :? Instead, she was just up and focused. She tried to take another 10mg, but still nothing. Two days later, she snorted 20mg of Adderall again, stayed up all night, drank coffee, and did the same thing the nexT day/night.

After that, she kept doing adderall xr/ir supplemented with coffee every 2-3 weeks, and just felt focused. this was happening for about 2 months until December, when SWIM got her adderall prescription, 5 mg IR's. That's when she went crazy, and started doing about 60mg every 5 days, supplemented with a bunch of coffee and sleepless nights Interestingly, she felt a slight rush again when she took about 15 mg IR the first time after doing a bunch of XR's. eventually, SWIM was doing addy every 3 days, not sleeping when doing it, and this was going on for the next 5 months. SWIM did have a 2 week break in December, and a 2 week break in April, but she did not feel happy when taking addy again, only a tiny-tiny reduction in tolerancy, i.e. she did not have to take 80mg, and only took 60mg IR. SWIM took another break in June for a month. She recently took 20mg IR with coffee, but did nt get happy, only SLIGHTLY, VERY SLIGHTLY focused. SHE TOOk another 10mg with coffee to prolong the duration of addy, and slept that night. The next day she took 30mg with a bunch of coffee(5 cups) and did not sleep.

Sorry for such a long post! I Just want to give everyone a comprehensive info for your best input! :D:D=D:)
So my question is, will she ever get a rush compared to the first couple of times she did addy? I know that SWIM needs to abstain completely from the addy for a long time, but what would be your recommendations in terms of timing and lifestyle?
Also, SWIM sometimes hangs out with "white girls", and 2-FMA (couple of times). SHe also drinks a bunch of coffee; doesn't eat regularly and is probably magnesium deficient. SWIM also has concentration problems, and she may have a natural dopamine shortage. SWIM is off celexa atm; also swim does not exercise. I'm imagining adderall break does not work if your are not healthy? also, swim keeps expecting the first euphoria, and my hypothesis is that it is partially because her brain remembers the "rush" and remembers that it is a toxic substance adderall which gives it to her, so as long as she will think about the rush, she will not get the high again?
Your input? what should she do to reset the tolerance? thanks guys!

Taking a reasonable daily dose of dxm during your time off adderall may help reduce your tolerance to some degree. Unfortunately, the effects will most likely never be quite as euphoric as your first time. After several year long breaks I found that even though my tolerance had dropped, I still didn't feel the euphoric rush that occured during my first period of use. Be sure that you don't end up chasing your first high like so many of us.

Based on 30 years of experience as an on-and-off heavy stim user I will concur that Adderall tolerance threshold builds up much quicker than what I experience with Dexedrine. Because Adderal contains both dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine the temptation to blame the latter is quite strong and certainly not without merit. Many long-time Adderal users who believe they are addicted to dextroamphetamine are actually more dependent on the quick-onset/short acting properties of levoamphetatime, a substance that supposedly has the same addiction and abuse potential as meth and crack cocaine. Can't tell if that's true but it sure packs a quick punch.

Thanks for your input! do you know if dxm is sold over-the-counter and locations where I can buy it? Thank you!!=D

Here in the states dxm can be found at any drugstore in the cough and cold section. Make sure you find a product that only contains dextromethorphan as the active ingredient, look for long lasting cough and cold products. I strongly suggest that you only take this stuff during your time off of adderall, combining the two (ime) is extremely unpleasant/potentially dangerous.

I used to be scripted aderall 30mg xr a day and at first it gave me a lot of euphoria and stimulation. Now if I take it I barely feel anything, I might as well not have taken it. I think tolerance builds rapidly and the euphoria never really comes back after how ever long.
