Stimulants Adderall Tolerance Issue

SWIM just got prescribed Adderall XR generic 10 mg for ADD. SWIM has taken Adderall over the past year at least 20 or 30 times. The dosages were typically 20mg, occasionally higher. Also SWIM just began battling depression which seems to have taken the "high" euphoria out of Addy. The first day SWIM picked up his 10 mg XR generic script, he ground up the beads with a spoon and wax paper and snorted/ingested 60mg over an hour. The effects were noticeable but what seemed to be HALF as effective as the 40mg he took just a few days earlier. Is it possible that the XR is unbreakable through crushing it up? Or is the generic brand worse? Or is Swims tolerance just totally messed up suddenly.

I would have to say that it would be your tolerance thats causing the diminished sensation.
Iv noticed through personal experience that adderall tolerance develops extremely quickly(less than 48hours). I have been looking into ways of preventing/decreasing tolerance for a couple months now, but I haven't found anything extremely useful, the best thing ive found is to take them in relatively high dose (60-120mg/day {adderall xr}) for about 3 days, then take a 2-3 week tolerance break (a real pain in the ass, especially as a full time student).

As for snorting, I read somewhere that snorting adderall causes a faster development of tolerance and with it not offering a greatly increased bioavaibility it really seems like its not worth it, though if you feel inclined, crushing those beads should allow you to snort them effectively.
