What's up guys, I have work this weekend and it's a pretty tough shift i work from 5pm saturday to 4am sunday. On top of that i have to be back at work 7am sunday and I will be there until 8pm. My question is I have a 30mg ir adderall and i'm considering taking it during my second shift on sunday, what would be the best time to take it? Like first thing at 7am or wait until my lunch break and take it? I also need to sleep a reasonable amount of hours on sunday because i have to be up at 6 30 on monday for class, so I'm a little hesitant about taking the adderall because I've found it hard to sleep the night after taking some during the day, so since i have to be up so early monday would it be a better idea not to take it at all?. It clearly going to be a rough couple days and i'm trying to find a way to keep myself going because my work requires me to be running up and down three stories of stairs all day and carrying heavy kitchen equipment. thanks in advance

First, I am not sure if it would be terribly prudent to take an amphetamine while engaging in physical labor that your work entails - in fact, exercise + amphetamines is NOT a good idea due to the possibility of a good deal of stress on the heart and cardiovascular system, on the whole. Frankly, for the work you're doing, I'd think to recommend just getting it done without the Adderall, and letting the exercise motivate you on. If you were doing desk work, there would be next to no issues doing this so long as you can tolerate amphetamines well, and have not had a history of amphetamine addiction. But, you are NOT doing desk work, so I have to say I would not, if I were you - BUT, if you do take it against my advice, take it orally and use a SMALL dose (much less than 30 mg IR). I don't know your amphetamine tolerance, but regardless I would not suggest a high or even "moderate" dose with what you will be doing. My advice - try a bit of caffeine, and I would suggest through natural means like tea or coffee, but even with that do not go overboard. If you are one to get anxious when you do consume caffeine, don't, but if you are fine with it, then a bit spread out through the shifts to just "keep awake/alert" might help some. It won't be a cure all, by any means, but it should help some. Again, use even this modestly. Never underestimate a drug - even one so commonplace as caffeine.
