I have an appointment with a psychiatrist coming up, and I am hoping to eventually get a prescription for adderall. I meet the criteria for ADD, and was actually diagnosed as a teeneger and took ritalin and later adderall for several years so I know this drug will help me. The issue is I am 29 now so know this will be difficult.
A few questions. I know I may need to ride the medication roller-coaster for a bit before this doctor gives me adderall. Should I tell him I took it previously? I'm not sure of how much past psychiatric info I should give him. I do not want anti-depressants (and refuse to take one ever again), as I have taken them in the past and personally they made me feel worse. Should I tell him this or just take the script and wait it out? Any other tips you could provide me with would be helpful.
