Adderall-induced erectile dysfunction

Take less Adderall. I know, I know, your ADHD, you can't function without it, I get it, honestly, I've been through it. But amphetamines aren't sustainable long term anyway, and erectile dysfunction is a cardiovascular issue almost always, ie, you have too much amphetamine in your system and it is constricting blood flow to your penis.

There are ways around this for amphetamines more conducive to an actual good time and less culturally (or practically) acceptable to take daily, like if you wanna have sex on MDMA for example, in which case, Viagra, or potentially another actual pharmaceutical ED med is the usual advice given (sadly I don't speak from experience here). But for the basic amphetamine salts that make up Adderall, it's really just not worth the additional potential systemic risk of adding another pharmaceutical into the mix.

I'd say ED is not an overly common side-effect of Adderall, assuming we're talking when you're actually ON Adderall, even though the blood flow issues always apply even if they don't manifest in a noticeable way - so if you are getting ED from Adderall it's just almost inescapable that you're taking too much too often for your physiology. I'm sorry. Dexamphetamine didn't give me ED but it did kinda ruin sex somehow for me, made me sweat loads, heartrate through the roof, just somehow dissociated myself from myself, that wasn't the reason my last relationship didn't work out although thinking prescribed stimulants were the answer to my mental health issues was a big part of it so it's related.

Try modafinil if you absolutely feel like you need a stimulant to function, I'd be shocked if this induced ED in otherwise healthy men.

Other people will say lift weights, exercise, diet, blah blah blah and that is all absolutely true and might help somewhat but the fundamental problem here is just taking a hard stimulant every day that is fundamentally not sustainable and actually quite harmful physiologically to a range of bodily processes but which has been legitimized by the dystopian capitalist hellscape we live within which gives people a false sense of security because a doctor prescribed it to them, a falsehood that's just so easy to accept because stimulants are basically, mostly, hedonic and enjoyable and functional-feeling drugs so most of us don't need much to just burrow into our delusions about our mild stimulant addictions. I feel like I say this a lot on this forum but this is a hill I'll die on, amphetamines are not sustainable or safe to take every day for long periods without side effects, the only real solution here is to just take a lot less Adderall, by which I mean, less days, maybe try Monday-Wednesday-Friday maybe, lower doses ideally, try to time it around when you're likely to have sex in the meantime, if you have an understanding partner. Not saying quit forever, not saying stop immediately, not even saying you need to aim to not take any again (although personally that's what I'm going for)... just take less, possibly a lot less.
