I have been diagnosed with add, but have been successful in school without the need to medicate. This is my last semester in college, and I have been procrastinating really badly. I decided to go to my doctor and get some adderall (10mgs) prescribed to me. I took my first pill 3 days ago. I took 10mg at around 2 pm and 5 mg 3 hours later. I was able to focus and get a lot of work done, I also got a warm , calm, fuzzy feeling all over my body. However, yesterday I took another 10mg in the morning and didn't feel much of anything, so I decided to take an extra 5mg after about 2 hours. I started feeling a little more alert but not to the point where I wanted to be, so I took another 5mg, the comfort from the previous day was not there, but the focus was. Today I decided to take 20mg about 30 mins after a meal ( last two days I took it on an empty stomach). It has been 3 hours since I took it and I still don't feel the focus let alone the fuzzy feeling. Is it ok to take another 10mg? Also, is it normal for tolerance to go up so quickly? My last exam is tomorrow and I am planning on never taking the meds thereafter.

Yes, you could take another 10 mg. If your stomach was full, though, it might take a while for that first 20 mg pill to hit, so you may end up being awake longer than you wanted. I think it may be common for tolerance to rise that quickly but maybe someone else has a more definitive answer on that.

Tolerance increases rapidly to amp unless you take breaks, which I recommend. Also, discuss with your doctor about which dose is optimal with you. You shouldn't go over your prescribed dose. That warm and fuzzy feeling is dangerous; you should seek to minimize it.

Nice name. I could guess where it comes from but you might as well tell me.

I take anywhere from 40-65 mg a day, depending on my day. I've seen people taking so much more, but I don't dare. I only get that feeling if I haven't taken them in a while. My tolerance is built up from 4 years of use.
