So I have been taking Adderall roughly 2-5 times a week for the past 6 months or so. (Not prescribed, but using it to help in school)
Until recently I have not had a problem smoking weed or drinking beer after taking adderall.
However, the other night I got quite panicky after drinking a beer and smoking some weed.
Got really hot, panic attack-like symptoms and a bit light headed.
Is there any way to tell if it's either from the alcohol, weed, or both combined?
I remember reading somewhere about alcohol fucking with the effects of adderall.
Also one night my girlfriend got really sick after taking a few shots with adderall.
I am wondering this because I normally use weed to help comedown from addy and don't really want to give that up.
Beer on the otherhand, I could do without.
I guess I am just looking for some advice about the interactions between these drugs from anyone who has had similar experiences.

Cannabis isn't going to physically interact with anything. The main problem you're gonna get from it is increased anxiety and possible panic attacks, which are frequently mistaken for stuff like heart problems.

I'd say it's most likely from the weed, as alcohol tends to have mostly anti-anxiety effects, though of course it's going to vary from person to person. I'd recommend just combining 2 of them at once, first just the adderal with alcohol, and then just adderal with weed, to see what sort of interactions you get, and then you know which drug to cut down on.

^^ This is a good idea. Deduction will probably be the only way of knowin what's causin you problems.
Everyone's different, but on Adderall alone I experienced panic attacks bc of the increase in my heart pumping. So, that could be it alone.

Alrighty. Thanks for the advice guys and gals.
I was just worried I might stroke out or something haha
I will try the elimination method and see how that goes.

Ok guys and gals. I haven't toked in more than two months now. (Had been smoking everyday for about 4 years straight).
And haven't taken any adderall since my symptoms started. I went to the doc and got an EKG done because I really thought I had heart problems and also because the doctor I saw was an idiot and her only advice was "stop taking adderall and smoking weed" Well I already knew that... Anyways, the EKG came back normal. But I decided to get a second opinion by my normal doc. He diagnosed me with "generalized anxiety disorder" and prescribed me xanax, which seems to help. However, I still feel like there could possibly be an issue with my heart. Mainly due to the chest pain symptom I get, although I am told this is a symptom of anxiety. Well my questions is. After having taken adderall for about 2 years or so. Is this anxiety due to a chemical imbalance in my brain? Or something else? If this is the case, would my anxiety get better over time? Or would I need to do something about it (5-htp or some serotonin boosting drug)
I know there is no real way to tell, but I'm hoping someone with some experience in a situation like this could possibly shed some light on my problem.

I have had the same issues with amphetamines as well. Anxiety induced chest pain typically only happens during times of stress or over thinking the heart issue.

A heart issue is going to be a squeezing of the entire chest, as if you were in a vice. Age and genetics play a huge roll in whether you have heart disease.

Anxiety will typically be a tightness more-so in the center and left side of the chest. Without a diagnosis of heart disease, chances are you are worrying about nothing.

Stimulant induced anxiety is a matter of waiting. You can either choose to take a long break or continue dosing. The key to your problem will be getting your mind off of your heart. Nobody can tell you if you're in any immediate danger. Not even a doctor. There will always be a small risk of complications, however if your genetics are like the average person's, then you probably have a higher chance of getting struck by lightning than suffering "sudden cardiac arrest".

I was going to ask your age, because that can make a big difference. I have started getting palpitations, especially when combining adderall and alchohol, so I've stopped doing that. It used to be no problem for me, but I'm older now...

I'm 21 years old. The thing I am worrying about is that the xanax doesn't always help my chest pain and it seems that the chest pain comes first and then the anxiety. This is what leads me to believe I might have some type of heart issue going on. My doctor told me he was 99% sure it was only anxiety, but I never had a stress test or an ultrasound or anything else done other than the EKG, so I still slightly doubt his diagnosis.
