what is a natural way for someone to recover from taking 75mg of adderall xr that doesn't involve any other substances? when said person can't eat without feeling nauseous or sleep

if you don't have anything to help you sleep then probably taking a warn shower and sitting down in it for a while, then laying on your back calmly for an hour or so and usually i'm fine again.... or a few glasses of water at once to try speed it up to pass through you

haven't been able to fall asleep at all, took it at 5pm yesterday now it's 7am and i still haven't slept but i could try the water

ah that sucks, i had that kind of insomnia last week, i just road it out until i eventually fell asleep, food helps the most for me though

Welcome to Bluelight.
This post is unfortunately inappropriate for the wiki section. I'm going to go ahead and move to BDD.

ebola

IME I found that putting on quiet / 'lyricless' music And trying To focus your mind on one thing, I count backwards in my head (like from 500) And usually can't remember getting to 350. Haha just might my 2cents.

Methylphenidate has a notoriously hideous comedown, especially in high doses. As weekendwarrior stated, focusing your brain on something other than your discomfort can be very helpful, as can the warm shower and staying hydrated. You might also try melatonin if you have access to that.

For me the general rule with adderal doses of 40-60mg was a 18-24 hours until I could sleep again but that does not mean I wouldnt spend the whole night trying. I would spend at least 4-5 hours laying on my back focusing on my breathing or trying to fully immerse myself in the thought of the beach, even down to the feeling of moving your toes individually in the sand. These are two ways to meditate and it will make laying there for hours infinitely easier but meditation is hard and it is very hard to keep your stimulated mind from wandering but that is part of the fun.

Generally speaking few things will assist in sleeping the first one is time. Time will always work the more the better. I would strongly advise against dosing so late and if you are dosing for a party situation keep it under 20mg. I know its not crazy speedy at that dose but it is definitely effective for its use as a tool and that will keep you from feeling wacked out and destroyed at 530am as the sun starts to rise. You still may not be able to sleep but beleive me a comedown from 20mg is a cake walk compared to 80mg.

Another thing is natural sleep aids as wezface eluded to. Melatonin and valerian root will assist in sleeping but they are far from knock style drugs. My mother buys these stuff "calms forte" for herself and while it may not be what a drug seeker would like it is a natural sleep aid that my mother likes for when she needs some help and it helped me in my times of restlessness. However, I would not take it for a comedown as it is not strong enough if you need relief.

The other is OTC sleep aids. My favorite is doxylamine. It works very well for me and is the best OTC sleep aid by far in my opinion. When asked what do I want to sleep on a bus or plane if someone were to ask doxylamine and i will spell it for them and not accept diphenhydramine. Doxylamine has a hang over type effect and will make for a sluggish morning if you do not over sleep so be warned it creates a great deal of sleep inertia so if you need to go from 0-60 in the morning its probably not for you.

Alcohol is another decent sleep aid if you will. You really have to keep your dose at 2-3 shots followed by water. If you are going the alcohol route the best thing is to get clear liquor, as people feel it is less likely to cause hang overs, take 2-3 shots quickly drink some water and hop into bed. The idea is that the alcohol will assist in sleeping and i find a burning tummy from liquor actually gives me something other then not sleeping to focus on and it can help in that sense too.

Then we have benzos and the prescription sleep aids. These are obviously the gold standard for knocking ones self out efficiently and safely, provided other substances are not mixed. The nice thing about the prescription class sleep aids is their lack of side effects and sluggish mornings when you get a proper sleep. They also do not have the same side effects when you up the dosing so if yuo needed 40mg of valium to put you out, it would mostly do that and that alone so you wouldnt die or get all delirious like anti histamine style sleep aids will do. Their draw back is obtaining them can be hard and the high can be noticeable and pleasurable which can lead to addiction.

I think thats a decent break down of what you can do to help.

I agree with the warm shower suggestion. I don't understand how it works, but I always feel better after taking a hot shower and putting on some clean clothes. Whether I'm coming down from stimulants or in withdrawal from any given substance.

If you're going au naturale with your comedown, the best things you can do are: Fluids; amphetamines are severely dehydrating, so make sure you drink plenty of water, but you also must make sure you balance out your fluid intake with the proper amount of electrolytes. This is why gatorade/pedialyte and similar drinks are a good option. I'll make the assumption that you're appetite is non-existent, but eating is an important part of restoring your body to homeostatic functionality. I would suggest nibbling on some bread/toast and washing down each bite with your drink. Last but not least, sleep. It's not understood why sleep is essential for survival, but in your case, a good rest is key to full recovery.

I'm sure by now you're probably through your comedown, but at least you'll have a tid bit of knowledge for if you ever decide to use stimulants again.
