Stimulants Adderall and large amounts of Caffeine - Has my Friend taken too much?

Hey im new call me Ruhl Mruhl or whatever pleases you I'm 18 years old and I appreciate this site, I've been a long time stalker. It's nice to meet you all :D. SO i'm going to get right to telling you this about a friend Also known as SWIM (<-- is this frowned upon here?). I'm going to give you a short version and a long version, so if you're bored you can read the more detailed version of the story as it may help :D

SHORT VERSIONSIMPLIFIED:

SWIM has had no amphetamines for over a month, then SWIM injested SEVEN 20mg Adderalls, We don't know if they were Instant Release or Extended release, and periodically throughout the day SWIM continued to drink water with MIO ENERGY flavoring, it has 60mg of Caffeine per 8 fl oz. with a whopping total of 1080mg of Caffeine, SWIM estimates that in addition to the Adderall he has had roughly 756mg of Caffeine today. SWIM is having slight stiff hurting kidneys, SWIM also feels the possibility he may puke, SWIM having an intermediate level of understanding of drugs should NOT have been so hasty but he didn't think ( SWIM feels pretty confident that he will be perfectly fine if SWIM stops now at 756mg of Caffeine and 140mg of Adderall which SWIM did not pay attention to see if they were IR or XR....) but you never know, he has had no Amphetamine in over a month :P so let me hear what SWIM needs to hear even if you're going to flame.


P.S. Anyone know off the top of their head the half life of Amphetamine? DO NOT go out of your way to go find it as I could find it just as easily as you but I'm dealing with this right now


LONG VERSION

Today SWIM at around 9AM was given FOUR 20mg Adderalls (No idea if IR or XR :/) Now Adderall isn't in SWIM'S list of favorite drugs but SWIM used to use Adderall quite a bit but it had been roughly 40 days since SWIM had any Adderall. Then at 11AM SWIM's friend "R" a good friend of SWIM who had GIVEN SWIM the adderall earlier how he was feeling, SWIM said that he did not really feel anything, SO "R" being the good friend he is gave SWIM another THREE 20mg Adderalls (Once again, no idea if they were IR or XR) making it a total of 140mg of Adderall which to SWIM used to be a pretty normal dosage. But periodically throughout the day SWIM has been drinking water with flavored water (Mio energy), each serving contained 60mg of caffiene with a serving being a 8 fl. Oz. glass with there being 18 servings in the container. The container is almost gone SWIM would estimate that he had used about 65-70% of the container. SO 756mg of Caffeine and 140mg of Adderall (once again, no idea if they were IR or XR) without having taken Amphetamines in a little over a month 8o. I think you could figure that SWIM dosn't feel too good, SWIM's heart dosn't seem to be racing too fast, but earlier SWIM had started sweating really bad from the FOUR 20mg Adderalls and to add to that SWIM took those other 3 and from that point was when SWIM had injested all the caffiene and SWIM's kidneys hurt a little bit, they feel stiff :/. SWIM also feels like puking but SWIM is an 18 year old man! :D. So SWIM has the willpower to fight off the urge to puke, and he has nicer organs :P. SWIM thinks he will be alright from how he is handling it but SWIM wants to make sure as he dosn't know anything about the LD 50 of Amphetamine or what happens when mixing Amphetamine with Caffeine, SWIM also wants to hear about how much Adderall he can take, and what the half life is on Amphetamine as SWIM dosn't feel like looking it up.


HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED :D

Don't use SWIM here.

How long ago did you take the pills? If it wasn't too long ago, I would say make yourself puke them back up. Also if they are XRs that may extend your window to puke since they'll stay in your stomach longer (or do they stay in your small intestine instead while they release slowly?) Also, drink plenty of water (without that caffeine crap in it). It'll help replenish your fluids from sweating and from the excessive urinating that caffeine will do to you.

Apart from that, most of us aren't doctors here and even if we were, we're not in the same room as you so we can't gauge the severity of your condition. If you think you've taken too much, the safest option is always going to be the hospital.

Next time, don't take that much caffeine. That much is almost always unpleasant especially when mixed with other stimulants.
 
That's a lot of adderall. My friend (yes my friend, not SWIM lol) says mixing caffeine and adderall is so terrible, makes him insanely irritable, and he used to pop them like they were candy.
Don't the XR and IR pills look different?
And yeah, like Dead said with the hospital.
If you ever think you're going to die, go to the hospital.
Caffeine with or without adderall can make a messy dirty high.
 
Well... Watch out man, if you start getting bad stomach cramps and vomiting and diahrea, go to a doctor, you could've hurt your kidneys or your liver. Being dehydrated and other risks from over stimulation. Besides that watch out for cardiac issues. Stop overdosing on stims, that much caffeine coupled with that much adderall almost sounds like a cry for help dude, take care of yourself please, sounds like some pretty scary behavior from a harm reduction standpoint. Stay cool, and stay high (just not that high on crappy drugs (caffeine))

Ps caffeine and amphetamine sucks, magnifies the negative aspects such as sweating and jittery/nervousness. Caffeine feels more like a peripheral stim than a CNS one, even though it has CNS properties. That combo just really sucks to me

Do not repeat this.

If they are xr, you may be stimulated for some time, but all you need to do is stop consuming caffein, take a shower, get some fluids like milk and try to eat fruit or whatever you can stomach.
Other than that, enjoy the rest of your buzz and relax.


And as to LD50s and HL, I know I'm not going to fucking spoon feed you cause you're admittedly too lazy to find when it'd take less than two minutes on google, I dunno about everybody else.
 
Okay, first off...if they were in oval capsules with little beads inside, they were XR....If they were in straight pressed tablets that would be IR and that makes a difference!

either way, that amount probably won't kill you....but taking that energy drop shit was a mistake!

I've been using stimulants for over 2 decades, including meth and dexedrine and when I use adderall IR, I start with three 20mgs and don't redose for at least 12 hours....

However, I have taken in excess of 200mgs in 18-24 hour periods and I was eventually fine....

adderall is not that pleasant for most people in high doses, and you definitely took a lot!!

the combination of the Mio and the adderall probably have you dehydrated and tweaky!

If you can get a benzo, like a xanax or Klonopin, even a small dose of that will work wonders for you, I promise!!

Other than that, drink some fucking water! A lot...2-4 8 oz glasses....

Try to eat a little food too...

I think you'll be okay!
 
I don't drink much caffeine when i'm on stimulants, especially adderall and meth. if i do, it's like one coca cola (It's actually sort of a habit to drink one of the mexican version coke whenever I'm doing cocaine, the drip combines with the cola and tastes real nice, at least to me), which contains like 30-50mg of caffeine tops, which isn't much. IMO too much caffeine just makes the negative effects worse, and the positive effects lessen.
 
bluehues pretty much took the words right out of my mouth but I'll add because I don't think it's been mentioned that adderall has a half life of about four hours I believe though xr's obviously stay with you much longer, 8-12hrs usually. I'm guessing they were xr since you didn't feel much from 80mg after two hours, if you want to know for sure read bluehues description, xr and ir pills look quite different so you should be able to discern which one you took fairly easily. Just to reiterate, kick the caffine and drink lots of water, don't be afraid to puke but drink extra water if you do and if you can get some benzos they'll help calm you down but don't try to overcompensate, a small dose will suffice. All and all you should be fine, just use this as a lesson and learn from it.
 
Thanks everyone, but uhh this is exactly why my friend stopped taking it in the first place, "R" has had klonopins, xanax, tylenol 3's, Vicodins and the XR adderall's, The most recent time my friend had taken adderall, "R" had either gave. him lots of Adderall Xr
 
Thanks everyone, BTW the caffeine was accidental I didn't notice the caffine content until i had consumed around 600mg. But yes they were XR's, we have actually only seen gotten IR a couple times, I need to stop being so selfish and immature pursing high's, I mean adderall isn't shit and I just avoid all common sense because "I wanna get fucked up"? That's soo stupid, especially when I have good friends who are worried a lot, not just friends who don't do drugs but those who were Heroin, Meth, and coke addicts that know what they are talking about and look out for me , me and my total disregard for that is baffling to say the least, and how I will be one of those idiots who dosnt use common sense and is going to nearly die from such a weenie drug ( in fact dying from any kind of drug abuse would suck, i'm not saying i'd rather die on a harder drug, that would be fucked up, just that if anything were to ever happen that it not be due to the fact that no precautions were made ie. "Someone without tolerance to a drug thinking I can take as much as I want and mix it with other drugs and be fine because I can handle it", i know that sounds bad but i dont know how to say what i am meaning here exactly, if I offended any i am honestly very sorry, some of you might ubderstand what im saying, some may still disagree but we're people and sometimes people have different opinions. Well holy shit idk what happened I planned on commenting a simple "thanks, im going to be fine. Next time i get high but not on adderall because that wont happen again, though this situation is very similar to my last Adderall experience and afterwords that same claim was made. But this obviously isn't my thing because I disregard all common since when it comes to adderall. ( I just can't wait till college as im probly going to end up breaking that promise to myself when i need to stay awake late at night to do work or when i need help concentrating)

P.S. I actually deleted about 1/3 of this, i know nothing is relevant and many people don't care, but i am not going to sleep anytime soon and once I start typing or talking while on Adderall i can't stop, and Venting always helps calm me down, so that whole shitstorm WAS necessary.
P.S.S. I think it may be time for me to talk to a therapist.

Next time you're high and alone on adderall, try spankin it, seriously it will take your mind off things!=D
 
Man, you just took to much. Especially the caffeine.. Good to see your realize you can't continue and it was a accident.

I used to drink black coffee like it was my job while working as a forklift driver doing 12 hour shifts mon-friday. Most days id have had 10-15 cups of coffee from 7 am to 7pm (plus about 3.5 grams of weed, benzos, benzos and more benzos). id mix in half a cup of cold water (to cool it down) and then chug 1-3 cups at once. After 6 months of doing this (and peeing every 20 min) i developed such a sensitivity to caffeine a can of coke would send me into what felt like a 10 day meth binge comedown. Im not joking. it was one of the scariest things that has ever happened to me. I was hearing shit, seeing shit etc etc. i stopped using any caffeine for a solid year and it went away. Dont let this happen to you.

Btw i was on cymbalta at the time to. so i imagine all that caffeine plus a SNRI was stupid lol
 
How the hell can you not know the difference between XR beaded-capsules and an IR tablet?

That's too much caffeine. Once I took a whole Mio of like 1080mg caffeine and tweaked my fucking balls off.
 
^Its actually pretty simple....ones a capsule with a plastic-like shell, one is a tablet....

Now, there are IR capsules and ER tablets in other pharms, but not adderall. I'm 99% sure...

Re-read my post, I said how can you NOT tell. Of course there are different forms of time release with other meds, but in ADHD, methylphenidate is really the only XR tablet.
