Hey guys,

I have been dependent on adderall for sometime now, as my work and family life seem to demand it. However, after seeing several doctors, and ending up on a shrinks couch, it hit me the I was depressed as hell. Hence why I always thought I needed the adderall boost. Ritalin used to be marketed as an antidepressant ironically. Anyway my question is, will adderall effect the way Cymbalta ( The antidepressant my psych put me on) works to improve my mood? I am also on valium so any input on either drug combined with Cymbalta would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
M.J.

Welcome to Bluelight :)

Drug combination questions should be posted in Basic Drug Discussion, I'll move this over there for you.

The only possible problem with that combination is that adderall can increase endogenous serotonin release, and cymbalta also increases serotonin. This likely will not cause any problems for you unless you're on a high dose of both medications.

Adderall has been shown to lower the seizure threshold, and cymbalta has been shown to cause seizures. Diazepam certainly raises the threshold for a seizure, but you never know.

Interesting. My current doses are 30-60mg of Adderall IR, taken randomly throughout the day or night, 40-50mg of Valium and 90mg of cymbalta. Pharma companies love me lol

thanks!

With that much Valium, it is highly unlikely anything seizure related will happen.
