Stimulants ADD meds

I have diagnosed ADD, and used to be on a number of medications for it including adderall and ritalin. i stopped taking it a few years ago but recently i feel like it would be beneficial for me to go back on. i was wondering what the best way to bring this up to my doctor is. im a teenager, so i dont want him to be suspicious that ill abuse it.

Also, i dont plan on using it all the time, so with whatever is left id want to trade for other drugs, or maybe just sell. is there a certain brand that is more popular, beyond just higher dose or RR?
 
You haven't yet missed the train, but Adderall may be on its way out soon. At any rate, I would still go for this one, and in my experience, Adderall is incredibly popular. Ritalin, meh...

I just told my doc that i would often zone out during a lecture at school/ or while reading
homework material. I told him when i would zone out during a lecture or during studying/homework, that it would create more work for me to go back and read it over again. And zoning out/losing your attention during a lecture is bad news.. creates more work for you.

My doc was very understandable, diagnosed me with ADD and started scripting me 20mg aderalls right off the bat.now school is a breeze.

Also, just tell him you used to take the meds before hand, and think they would help you again. all he has to do is look at your medical history

Be careful, man! I did the same thing, and at first, school became a breeze for me as well. Then, one day, your level of motivation may take a dive, and even with the Adderall you will have a difficult time getting things done. And without the Adderall? Forget about it...

To be fair, I think that part of the reason my motivation took a dive was because of untreated depression. Then again, I also believe that the Adderall exacerbated my depression. So, yeah, be careful...

dude, we are in a very similar boat. I'm untreated for bipolar, and i go through long phases. I go through a manic phase which can last from 1 month to 3 months, and then a depression phase afterwards lasting relativly the same time. Basically, when i'm manic i feel normal, stimulated, ambitious, and motivated. In depression phases i just feel really fuckin depressed and unmotivated and shitty, just sleep a lot and stay in. I noticed that with my adderall prescription, during my depression phase, taking the meds at the instructed dose, i feel better and normal like a manic phase. But i'm only on my third refil, which is third month, and so far i'm doing fine. I can honestly say for finals week i heavily abused my script and ran out 2 weeks early, but i got a lot of shit done but with a sacrafice to my health.

About how long into being ADD medicated did you loose your motivation? that is exactly what i don't want to happen

I'm personally quite content being off adderall and strattera.
