Hello,
I have ADD and ESD and have tried so many different things over the last 15 years that I can't remember half of them. I have been taking Vyvanse 70mg once a day for the last few years but I develop such a strong tolerance to it that I have to go off of it for 2 days straight after being on it for 5 and really that only gives me one decent day anymore.
Two days ago I started Nuvigil 250mg and stopped the Vyvanse. I can already tell that this is not going to work for me either, but I will go a full month just for due diligence. The Nuvigil seems to do a better job for the sleepiness as normally I have frequent waves of ESD throughout the day, but really haven't had them over the last few days but rather just an overall fogginess.
As for the ADD, the Nuvigil doesn't help it at all and seems to actually make it worse. Its taken me about 20 minutes to get this far.
I have never tried cough syrup or any of the things that I have read about to help with the tolerance of Vyvanse as I'm not a huge fan of doing something like that.
For the ADD some that I have tried are Ritalin, Wellbutrin, Adderall, some antidepressants and various combos of the salts but either they were ineffective or I became tolerant to them really quickly.
Is this just how it is for everyone? If anyone has any suggestions or advice I would really appreciate it. I just really want to be a functioning human being. Thanks.
