I've been seeing an Acupuncturist lately. It does seem to work, though I only see her once a week instead of 2 - 3 times, and I feel good for 2 days then back to "normal". Though, again, it does work the day of and the day after. What are your thoughts and/or experiences with it?

i saw an acupuncturist a year or so ago in the hopes it would help me stop grinding my teeth. i felt it was silly, but i was turning down all the horrifying medication my doctor wanted to prescribe and when he suggested acupuncture i decided it was non-invasive enough that i should give it a try to be a less difficult patient.

i think i was going about twice a week. while i didn't buy into the tongue checking and qi releasing, i was able to keep an open mind by looking at it as meditation. being in a dark room with no expectations of doing anything, full of carefully placed needles and unable to move for 45 minutes (with no clock to watch) helped with being present. it was calming and i enjoyed it. but it didn't help me stop grinding my teeth and it was pretty expensive concerning both cash and time off work, so i quit after about eight sessions.

is there something specific you are trying to treat?

Since there are many threads regarding acupuncture including this already going in HL I am going to send this over there.
