Heroin actual bodily harm from h

I used to micron large amounts of dope and store them in bacostatic h2o. Over about a week the drug seemed to have degraded into morphine significantly, but for a couple days I didn't have any problems (and we're talking like a total of relatively good ~4g, which I would use over the week). But absolutely, degradation is a concern when using and trying to store heroin. Not nearly as easy as doing such with something like bupe as you say.

When it comes to tar heroin, which I was thinking of when I was writing my earlier post in regards to the micron filter comment, OH GOD. I hate it when I used to see people just using cotton to filter their tar (and this was pretty much how almost everyone I knew who shot tar did things). So fucking nasty. I mean, I can't imagine you're not asking for major trouble. I mean, I've done it with anything but a cotton, but I just can't shake the feeling that I'm putting myself in harms way unnecessarily. But then again, I'm kinda a hypochondriac ;)

Hmmm. So all I have access to is black tar. I have bacteriostatic h2o, but have never used a micron filter, always cotton, but never had a problem. You say you've used everything but cotton...so what would that be? When I first started using, my sketchy (ex) boyfriend used cigarette filters, and so did I for the first few times. And if I read your post right, micron filtered tar in bacteriostatic water will not lose potency for a couple of days? I do love the process (probably as addicted to it as I am to the drug itself), but just knowing I could have a couple of days' worth ready to go would be nice, too.

I have not read the thread, just the OP. But I have done a fair ammt of research on this as I have been an advocate for completely ending all drug prohibition for 25 years now. I don't have the study links, research links, etc handy but heroin is less dangerous to the human body than acetaminophrien is.

The 'dangers' and 'harm' comes from improper (non sterile) IV techniques, the crap mixed with heroin (which is NOT heroin), the secondary effects caused by drug prohibiton (inflated costs since ppl are risking life in prison importing it, selling it, etc) so ppl in general can not only not get pure heroin, they pay out the ass for the heroin+crap it is mixed with when sold. And due to the costs (which would be minimal if it was legal like coffee) they wind up spending everything they have saved, then run through their credit, then borrow from family, then borrow from friends, then sell everything they own, then spend their days doing a bunch of time consuming and risky stuff (that is often also quite bad for their fellow citizens) like prostituting with hiv or hepititis, or robbing, etc, etc, etc.

If a gram of dope cost 5 bucks and you could get it pure from the pharmacy, and also get narcan and accurate info about save dosing and safe administration techniques, assuming you were not mixing your heroin with barbituates and/or benzos and/or alcohol it is non toxic to the human body.

It is highly addictive, but not toxic or dangerous. OD's happen b/c people combine it with benzo's or barbituates. Or because their dealer was distracted when mixing his stuff so instead of an evenly cut batch he winds up with some that is very pure and some that is almost all cut (occasionallly this happens, doesn't happen in pharmacies). So user joe schmoe who buys x bags/day and uses xbags/day one day buys xbags and uses it and winds up with stuff that is way more potent than he was aware of or expecting... and dies. Wouldn't happen if legal. Or ppl OD b/c they are clean for a while and then start using again, but neglect to factor in they lost the tolerance they built up and use an ammt they used when they had a high tolerance... and bam... dead.

But OD's mostly happen from heroin being mixed with another downer and person stops breathing because of the combo of drugs used... and this always gets reported as 'heroin OD' which is factually incorrect.

And all the 'fiends' running the streets looking all worn down, if they had access to legal heroin at affordable prices could simply use it then go off to work, then come home and be with family and friends, etc, etc, etc... assuming they are using a dose that allows them to be functional and not so much that they are nodding and sleeping all day.

If you do your research, as I have, you will find physicians reporting that the drug heroin is not toxic to the human body. Gov't propaganda and the huge $ machine that gives politicians huge budgets to dole out contracts to their friends, etc and keeps millions of prison guards, judges, other court personell, millions of cops, etc, etc and millions of lawyers (tons getting paid by taxpayer money defendng users who can't afford their own lawyer, as well as all the lawyers employed by those who can pay for their own....) as well as the corruption that lines the pockets of judges and cops, etc is what is behind the propaganda/incorrect information that keeps the drug war..and lies about heroin and all other drugs going.

End prohibtion and we save billions of dollars a year....but put judges and cops and lawyers out of work. Something like 90% of congressmen are lawyers...maybe they care more about their friends and themselves than they care about me and you????

Thank you Thank you all for all this really great information, for real. where can you find .2 micron filters?

Individuals who manufacture their own steroids from powder form use these filters, as do, I suppose, lots of other people. Google will help you locate no prob. Not illegal to own or use as far as I know.

And regarding use of heroin, although it is very VERY rare (we're talking like 1/1000 people who use heroin), it is possible to use it a couple times and never have it become a problem or develop a addiction. As said, this is very VERY rare though (and no one has any business assuming this applies to them - it's a judgement you can only make after the fact).

While I agree, give or take 1 person in 1,000 or 1,000,000 or whatever... that is a separate (not trying to say it's not important) issue than the toxicity of heroin to the human body. The problem, as I see it, in very large part comes from obviously the illegality of it (who want's jail and to have their kids raised without parents) and mostly COST. If someone with a HUGH habit had to pay $10 bucks a day for said habit, what would you say the problem(s) would be then?

yuck... that must have been knock out dope!

sorry couldn't help myself ;)

once I bought dope from a REAL ASSHOLE corner dealer, basically some low level punk kid, and he had mixed cayenne pepper in as a cut... FUCKING ASSHOLE. I mean, really? Really?!

you never know though, unless you have a testing kit or something. and even then...

I know I'm preaching to the quire (sp?) here but when is the last time one of us worried about what our pharmacist 'cut' our medicatioin with? Legalization is the answer. And www.leap.cc Law Enforcement Against Prohibition IMO are the best resource at our (society at large) disposal to advance that cause. Random bible belters, etc are going to find it much harder to dismiss out of hand the words from a former dea under cover narc with 20 years of front line experience fighting the 'war' on drugs when he describes in detail, with factual info, why this war is harmful and destructive. Not to mention completely innefective.

1 1/2 trillion dollars spent fighting drugs and they are cheaper and higher qualty than they were in the 70's. Personally I'm intersted in the gubament starting a 'war' on mansions and beach front property. If they do I'll probably be able to afford a mansion on my own private beach before I retire.

True list of pros is near infinite, in favor of ending prohibition, especially given all the damage it has done... but (without being too much of a dick) let me nicely say that this is not the place for such a discussion. Take it over to Drug Culture and I'll join in on it with you for sure!
