Actor Charlton Heston dead at 84

And know I don't have yen for that particular film, I just think gun nuts are the bane of this country, and they have no place in an evolved free and peaceful world. I hate that macho bullshit.

^Hello I wasn't referencing anything you said at all, I think gun enthusiasts are fucking scum. Case and point, there has never been an arguement, so get over yourself. Learn how to agree to disagree.

I really don't care what your opinion on gun enthusiasts are. It's quite irrelevant. What is relevant is that you felt that it was "tactless" to have a meeting that's required by law. It was not a choice so lambasting the NRA for doing something they were required by law to do makes you seem a little dense.

Edit: More then a little, actually. Since my pointing out that it was a legally required meeting was met with a "oh I sure do hate those gun enthusiasts" whinefest.

Is that the kind of world we live in? Hilarious.

Gun nuts are the bane of our society? How about rapists, murderers, wife beaters, child molesters and thieves?

It's good to touch ground every now and then and realize that there are far worse people out there then the people on the other side of your political fence.

We should take a walk on the evolved free and peaceful west end of atlanta sometime at night and see how long it takes for you to want me to take my gun out of it's holster and keep it in my hand :)

What is lawful about you being engaged in a harm reduction drug culture website? Everything about this website is against the law, yet your coming off so righteous on these minor technicalities as though your an upstanding citizen who lives by every court mandated law of the land. That's how you came across in that argument, making it completely flawed and irrevelant.

I don't agree with you. You don't agree with me. You started the arguement (not really a fan of having to contest my own unimposing opinions) for whatever reason and are hellbent on ending it as some kind of victor.

I made one short statement about how I thought he was being disrespectful towards parents of kids who had been murdered on a mass scale, for no reason whatsoever, in a school no less, and you had to argue your point with me for half a page. Not to mention most of the advanced weapons they acquired were from touring gun shows, the type that obviously attracts that certain special breed of NRA human being (I'm sure you know the type).

Once again, your missing my point. The point is the obvious parasitic ills you've so kindly demonstrated above are among the very ilk your defending. Violence equates bad societal trends. Defense is no excuse. Have you ever heard of pacifism? Non Violent resistance? Egotism has no place here, and it's a bitch you'll have to learn to acquaint yourself with eventually, it's certainly takes a while I must admit.

What political fence are you fucking talking about? I'm not argueing politics by any means. My arguements are based solely on rationality and common sense. I already mentioned that I'd rather agree to disagree with you, correct? Your just not really listening to my major points hear (at least with an unbiased viewpoint).

I can only assume you're being intellectually dishonest with this paragraph. If you are not being intellectually dishonest then I'll have to assume much less flattering things.

But taking it at face value I'd like to take a moment to point out that I am an individual that's pretty much entirely off the radar of...well...anything. The NRA, at 4,000,000 members, is one of the largest non-profit organizations in the United states and last I heard the second largest political lobbying group.

I can take my grimy pills that give me naughty thrills and no one really cares. But a tremendous non profit organization cannot just break the law that they are chartered by and hope that no one notices.

WTF are your blabbering about? Please form questions that make sense so I can answer them.

How the fuck would that pertain to the original argumentative claims you made towards my one meager opinion oh, ten posts ago? Get over yourself. Lurk moar before you argue with kids you've never even talked to before about minor nothing issues, or get better at it.

No, you're actually just failing to make one.

It's cute that you're using hundred dollar words. But it's unfortunate that you're not actually making any kind of point with them.

Have you ever heard of pacifism? Non Violent resistance?

A nice ideal for making policy changes in government. However the idea of pacifism holds no water when 2 muggers kick you so retarded that you can't feed yourself for the rest of your life for no other reason then it seemed like the thing to do.

Your seem to assume that the world is fundamentally a peaceful and nice place and that people are ultimately good. I wish it were so.

Unfortunately the world is a hateful and predatory place where people will happily harm other people for their own gain or even for no reason at all. Hence defense is a reasonable justification for reacting with violence.

What political fence are you fucking talking about?

In this case guns are a political issue. The NRA is a bunch of gun nuts banded together for political reason. I simply find it funny that you feel that gun nuts are the scourge of society. Exaggerate much?

My arguements are based solely on rationality and common sense.

A rational person will recognize that a 4 million strong organization cannot just break the law.

Oh hey, look at that, we took the round-a-bout way back to the part where you were wrong in the first place.

Point taken.

I mentioned one point that in retrospect was irrelevant, I also continued to argue about it for longer than necesarry, even though I at no point during the discussion prompted any kind of arguement, I did however become defensive and carried away. Shit happens.

Oh shit, this isn't CE &P? Lame.

rip

it is amazing that within a matter of hours his death turned into a battle of right v. left/nra fans v. gun control
the leftist blogs have been having a field day and now the radio right talkers are going reactionary. his death seems to be lost in the muck of it all.
