Opioids Actavis promethazine w/ codeine

So I wanna sip on some sizzurp, as I'm sure you guessed

But.. this shit is ridiculously expensive.. like, really, really, really expensive, like <snip> a pint expensive

Now that pint only contains a total of 963mg~ of codeine, and I know from personal experience it takes like 200mg of codeine to really feel something for me, which equates to a <snip> dose..

now I am going to assume here that the promethazine potentiates the codeine or something, because I cannot see why or how anyone would feel justified. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a broke ass looking to get high by the cheapest means possible, and honestly sippin on some sizzurp is like a bucket list type thing for me.. and I've been listening to a lot of chopped and screwed mixtapes lately

So whats the deal here bros?

The only way that I can see it being remotely worth it is if you have zero tolerance to opiates. Even then it's not worth it, and I think it's more about the idea of doing it than actually doing it.

Last I looked sizzurp is pretty much gone. The only 2 times I've seen it in the last 3-4 years was one of the last bottles of the legit stuff and it was prohibitively and shockingly expensive . The only other time I saw it, it was flavored syrup that people added codeine and promethazine powder too. Which is not the same thing, at all.

Really? We don't encourage the use of slang here, so codeine w/ promethazine, as it is properly called, (weak opiate + powerful sedating antihistamine/antipsychotic) is extremely popular where I'm from, especially the 8 oz bottles.

My advice: Never buy any that is not sealed in it's original container. There are so many ways to scam users by selling look-a-likes such as Nyquil, Milk of Magnesia, that antacid that's escaping my mind right now, it's pink....., but yeah there are so many ways of selling fake codeine syrup, always inspect every bottle to make sure there are no holes in the bottom where it's been drained and refillled and then the plastic melted over, or a sticker or tape covering the marks.

It's unbelievably how effective it is. When I have a flu or nasty cough, the guifenesin (sp?) codeine stuff just doesn't work for me. The traditional prometh + cod is a perfect formulation for what it is supposed to be used for. It works on coughs, lets you sleep, and generally makes being sick so much easier.

I don't care if stuff gets diverted, if it works, it works. So since a tiny part of the world abuses it, I can't get it when I need it. Instead, if I want it, I can either pay absurd money for a potentially 'cut' form, or I can get the crappy new formulations.

Do they even still make the traditional codeine/promethazine or is it old stock?

I gotta say i love this stuff for it's intended use too, not for anything recreational as i have a rather large opiate tolerance. But this syrup really helps with persistent coughs, way more than just dxm syrup. But to answer the op's question, i wouldmn't buy it if you have any opiate tolerance whatsoever cuz theres too much promethazine in there to get aneffective dose of codeine withiut falling asleep.

Ive the tried the prometh + codeine syrup more then once, and the only time it didnt suck was when i mixed it with xanax and gin. And also you will probably get sold dxm or some other shit as ''sizzurp''. The high from lean is dirty,unejoyable and incredibly sleepy. Just makes you want to pass the fuck out. If you really wanna try codeine just do a cwe on codeine pills. If you want it to be ''lean'' add sprite, purple syrup. And a little bit of DPH or Hydroxyzine or Promethazine. At least you wont get scammed and you pay alot of money for some bullshit syrup.

THe only syrup that makes sense is tussionex,hydrocodone syrup. Id reccomend that instead of the stupid ass purple drank but be careful with the hydro.

it's really only because of rappers this stuff got really expensive over time. i remember way before it was so commercialized it was never anything anyone i knew would really spend more than a couple bucks on for a whole bottle. you feel way more of the promethazine than codeine anyway. i'd pass.

Well, I mean... duh... isn't that a given. Opiate and heroin use has a negative stigma amongst that particular subculture and I swear I've never met anyone from that culture that knew it was closely related to heroin. That culture is known for its lack of education. Also, another given is that when you HAVEN'T tried real opiates, sizzurp is amazing. Even if you do try opiates every once in awhile, the real prescription pro + cod is pretty amazing. Tussionex, in my opinion, is not better. Especially since it is now made with guiefenisin.

Since the last round of crackdowns on 'abusable' perscription meds, apparently the greatest cold/flue medicine every made is no more. Promethazine is not even related to gueifensisin (sp?) it's like they took out the promethazine just cause it was synergistic and they just put in whatever OTC cold meds they found first. Goddamn dude, every day, every hour, the government tries to take away more of our medicine. I'm sorry if .0001% of people abuse it, but I don't give a fuck, no one gets to tell me whether I'm allowed to have by far the most effective cold medicine I've ever used. It's no ones business... to bad the governement has the guns.

Sorry for the rant, again, but the discontinuation of this product made my flu last year unbearable, the codeine + guif did jack shit.

Yeah totally the lack of education on drugs is amazing. People arguing that oxycontin and percocet are two different drugs, and when you tell them codeine is an opiate ''You fool codeine aint no opiate you dont know yo shit mane''...sigh. I tried oxy before i tried codeine sothats maybe why i never liked it too much. I used it everyday for a few months to taper down from oxy and hydro but apart from thati really dont find it amazing. Especially when i have to cwe 20 pills to feel itchy and sleepy.Hydrocodone is way more enjoyable than codeine IMo.

Dont know about its potential to help for colds, i never used it for that. I guess it sucks for people who have a legit use for it, liek flus and all. I agree that the governement does everything to crack down on meds that people actually use forlegit reasons. Just like the oxy neo bullshit....they barely work for pain, and for a high its worthless.

Codeine/Prometh = Over priced, over hyped, little effect with even a small tolerance to opiates, honestly my advice would be save your money and buy vic's if you have a small tolerance..it's 100% better then codeine and you will be in a better state overall..The rapper's for some strange reason make it seem 10x better then it is honestly, one thing though it does taste good ill give it that.

lol kids and there lack of drug knowledge....yeh I don't even get into the argument with folks about that shit anymore...ive been on heroin for a few years and started on lil stuff like that...I use to get just as high on oxy as I can on heroin now....its alllll the same folks. don't fool yourself..u will get wt's just like a heroin user if u drink it for a long enough time
