Acid Purity

I'm very experienced with pretty much all my psychedelics. I know acid is more powerful as it increases in migrograms, like a 200ug tab is more powerful than a 100ug one. Multiple times I've bought 200ug tabs which are about double the micrograms of a regular tab. Most of the time it's noticeably more powerful and a great experience. One time, however, I got my hands on 5 supposedly 200ug tabs from a reliable friend and dropped them all at once because I do love my psychedelics. I was disappointed, however, when I found it paled in comparison to my past high dose trips. This made me think they could have actually only been about 100ugs, or maybe they were 200ug tabs just low purity LSD. I don't know much about acid purity though, so I was left with these questions that hopefully you can answer:

Does acid have different purities?

How drastically does the purity affect how powerful the acid is (if it does)?

Also, just wondering, do you guys think they were just 100ug, or 200ug and low purity?

Tabs can contain any amount of LSD or even other chemicals. It also can contain less pure LSD, for example with "iso-LSD".

We have no way of know what or how much you took but storage, proper laying and set/setting can all play a factor.

While LSD can be degraded, or unevenly laid, or less pure, the most likely culprit is simply that your tabs were underdosed, i.e. that they were indeed only ~100 µg per blotter square.

It's an ongoing never ending debate. Nobody knows for sure - but every one has an opinion.

They were just 100ug. You have to understand that most dealers are resellers of resellers of resellers of resellers of resellers of the guys who laid the blotters. How much is actually on the blotters is usually lost on the first few "resellings". Selling your blotters as 200 ug sounds a lot better than selling them as 100 ug, right? And 100 ug sounds a lot better than 50 ug. In reality, your blotters are probably closer to 50 ug than to 100ug - but who knows? Some testing sites actually claim to be able to quantify LSD blotters, but how they do it and how exact their results actually are, is in my opinion unsure, because you really can't quantify something without a reference. How many of these testing sites do really have the license and money to have a perpetual flow of pure LSD references from sigma-aldrich?

But I digress, I just wanted to say: LSD content on blotters is usually massively exaggerated by dealers, and dealers are generally a pretty clueless bunch, that just wants to sell their wares.

It is a long debate, my opinion turns out to be that the evidence is very poor for purity having effect, although for a long time before that "I wanted to believe" and tried to see if there is anything to support it. A few things changed my mind though, like pure acid being able to cause subjectively dirty trips.

I don't hear anything about purity doubts or dirtiness in the OP, if you meant potency instead of purity it would make more sense. No reason why bad purity would cause mild disappointing trips that wouldn't just be explained right away by low potency.

Average potency of a blotter is indeed more like 50 µg and it has been that way for a long time, even back in the day (though of course in some circles everything's just doused in the stuff). But people tend to talk about it like an average hit or standard dose is 100 which is not only advertised like that but also sounds believable.
