Acetone Wash

Alright, so swim has much experience with CWE of codiene containing pills. But as with many CWE'ers swim doenst like the amount of caffeine in the resulting mixture.

Swim has heard that doing an acetone wash will eliminate the caffeine? How does swim do this!
 
SWIM is stupid and we don't use that here. We know it's you doing the CWE!
 
regardless who you think it is i am talking about, openly admitting to doing something illegal on the internet is stupid. ESPECIALLY on a forum that is most likely frequented by the fuzz :|

but anyways, does anyone know the answer to that question?
 
I dont know what cwe is but ill try to explain to you how to get caffeine out of a codeine pill using acetone.
i checked the merck index and caffeine is soluble in acetone while it doesnt say that codiene is insoluble in it so it could be somewhat soluble in acetone, meaning you might lose a little if you do this. you need to be in an open place to do this, so if you are doing it inside keep the windows wide open and maybe use a fan.

heres what you do (take with a grain of salt, i might have left something important out)
1.crush pill into powder
2. put powder into cup (not plastic, preferably glass) and add acetone, dont use to much because you have to wait for it to evaporate
3. stirr the powder around, the goal is to dissolve the caffiene in the acetone
4. get a coffee filter and put the edges of the coffee filter around the edges of a cup, you might need to tape the edges of the coffee filter to the cup (but dont put the tape inside the cup, acetone melts plastic)
5. filter the acetone/codiene solution through the coffee filter and into the cup
6. the coffee filter should have some powder in it, this is the codeine sans caffeine. you have to wait for the acetone to evaporate before you use the codeine. It will probably take a long time, im not sure how long. You dont want to be ingesting acetone.

honestly i think you are going to lose a fair amount of codeine doing this, you definitely are going to lose some. im not really sure if this question is allowed because it isnt in the name of harm reduction that you want the codeine removed...
 
Don't go swimming in acetone.

Deadly, plus buying enough acetone to swim in would certainly have the feds poking their nose in your business.

These pills are the asprin caffeine codeine mix pills (222's). I have so far done what you have said, but will the asprin also be dissolved in the acetone or will it be with the codeine in the filther.

also caffeine and asprin are bad for ya therefor it kinda is harm reduction :)

Oh sheeeeeeeeeeeeit the fuuuuuuuuuzzz! Relax bro the cops aren't kickin' doors in for doing CWE's, they got better shit to do...

But how do you plan on consuming this CWE if you use acetone to was the pills. Pretty sure acetone won't sit to well in your stomach, might burn a hole in it :\.
 
The aspirin will be dissolved in the acetone, and therefore pass through the filter leaving all of the insoluble stuff behind inside the filter as a solid.
That's the point of an acetone wash......
Please be careful with what's left. You are noobish, and could really endanger yourself in doing this.
Let me provide you with some pointers if you must continue....
Do not breathe the fumes...directly or indirectly-open the window
Acetone has a flash point below room temperature.
Don't light a cigarette or cook a pot of Ramen noodles around this stuff.
When you are left with the wet, sludgy codeine goodness in the filter, don't get in a hurry and do the stuff wet. Regardless of your preferred route of administration. Dry it out completely.
Patience. Spread it out in a clear glass dish in a thin layer. Stick a heat lamp above it, or use a hair dryer at a low temp/speed.
You will know it is dry when it doesn't stick to itself anymore.
BTW-You will not likely be left with pure codeine. There is sure to be other binders and fillers still not dissolved by the acetone.
Please try to resist the urge to bang it. Even when washed a pill, is still a pill, and should not be IV'd.
