Hi,
I just joined today because I have always looked at your public forums and have found a lot of good info on different topics. But I have a health question that I would like to get your opinion on. 2 weeks ago I was prescribes 60 hydrocodones 325/7.5 for a problem with pain in my neck and lungs. Anyways, I neglected to tell the Dr that I am a former heroin addict (it has been 5 years sober) which was stupid on my part. And when I took the pills as prescribed they had virtually no effect on my pain at all. Then I remembered seeing a forum discussing Cold Water Extract process and decided to give that a try, because I didn't want to end up destroying my liver/kidneys. So I tried it and it seemed to work for a while and fully admit that I was probably taking more than I should but did not worry about it because of my high opiate tolerance. Then about 10 days ago (thursday before last) I took probably 19 hydrocodone through the cold water filter process within about 12 hours. I felt fine that night, but when I woke up the next day, I was sweating, had a foul taste and smell in my mouth, and was very nauseous. Headache too. Felt kinda like a really bad hang over. I rushed to the bathroom and ended up projectile vomiting large amounts of blood through my mouth and nose. After that, I did feel better and trying to be a tough guy I decided to try and tough it out and see how I feel later (stupid I know I should have gone to the ER right then and there). For about 5 days my back hurt, I kept smelling and tasting that foul smell, and my stomach was in a lot of pain, although I had no more nausea, vomiting, and seemed to be digesting things normally (no blood in stool or urine and regular flow of waste). On day 5 I got sick of the pain, and went to the ER. They took my blood and said I had high white blood cell count so they gave me a CT scan of my abdomen which they didn't see any abnormalities. They let me go saying it was gastric reflux and prescribed me something for that. Now its ten days later, and I still feel a slight pain in my abdominal area (mainly my upper right side) but it is very dull. I guess to sum it up, should I be worried, even after the ER took blood and did a CT? I feel paranoid that I did serious liver/kidney damage, but I am digesting things fine. Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read this and any advise would be much appreciated.

I personally dont think that doing excessive amounts of norcos a few times would cause immediate liver damage, even if u didnt do cwe. There was a time in my life when i would take 20+ norcos a day and that lasted a couple years. I actually just had some blood work done and the test came out completely normal (kidneys thyroid liver etc..)suprisingly. But i got lucky i know that.

I see that youre a former heroin addict, but if youve been clean for a long time then maybe 19 norcos was just a little too much. Its definately enough to cause digestive problems and brown puke. And as for your pain after that event- maybe your going through mild withdrawals after gettin back on the opis.

Thanks Greenlighter, that is definitely reassuring to me. I thought the back pain could be caused by withdrawals, I just got freaked out because of all the blood. I mean it was bright red.

If you are still having some issues OP, it wouldn't hurt to go to the doctor and get another checkup.

Yeah as of right now it just feels like I've been punched in the gut too hard or did like 50 sit ups for the first time in a long time. I might make an appointment tomorrow.

Do you drink? Are you taking any drug/supplement?
I agree with cg and maya, you should go see a doctor even though the amount of APAP you took isn't likely to cause liver failure in a healthy individual.

Yeah I made Dr appointment tomorrow just to make sure I'm ok. I don't drink (anymore quit about 2 or 3 years ago) but I do take klonopin (prescribed). I'll let you guys know whats up as soon as I know. Thanks for all the input.

Yeah I would have gone to the er after throwing up.

That said, you appear to be fine. If you take prescribed doses it's always fine but you are abusing them.

Ok so I went to the Dr. he said he was just going to get a copy of the medical records. 2 days later (this past Friday) I was in so much pain in my upper right side, I went back to the ER. They took blood and urine tests and another ct. Said nothing was wrong with me and my appendix is fine, too which I said I haven't had an appendix since I had it removed in the 7th grade (nervous lol) so now I guess I'm just hoping I'm ok and the pain will hopefully go away soon.

ya i too had a norco habit and was taking anywhere from 18-30 a day depending on my money and of course that was daily. I remember my connect had those 7.5/500 once when he was out of norcos. THose had more tyennol than the 7.5/325s your talking about.

I bought 75 of them and before i even realized it i had taken all of them in just under three days. I was really strung out. I remember sitting on the couch thinking about how much i had taken the last few days and shit myself when i realized i had eaten them all in such a short amount of time.

My buddies dad was a doctor and i remember him saying it takes a few days to die from the od of tylennol. People think you take a punch of pills and go to bed and dont wake up but its actually a slow painful death from your liver failing. So needless to say i was a bit worried but everything worked out and im fine today. That was about 5 years ago.

You might be manifesting it in your mind but i dont know. You would be a better judge of that.

Hey I just found out what's wrong with my stomach today. Cold Water Filtering 19 of those pills in 12 hours gave me a hernia. Just incase someone else has this problem and the ER can't find anything wrong, you may have a hernia. They gave me some pills for stomach acid and gave me a diet I need to follow for a while.
