Abuse-Proofing a pill? What would you do?

There was someone Here on BL who dissolved 25 mg of naltrexone in one or two litres of some acidic liquid and used it for injecting h. He reported decreased tolerance growth and lack of withdrawal. I could easily get a naltrexone script too. I thought about it before.
 
Wasn't there a formulation which contained an orally inactive opioid antagonist, so that abusive ROAs would see diminished results?
 
Make a medication that does what it is intended to do ie. kill pain, but doesn't have the side effects like getting high. That wouldn't be much fun though.
 
I say make capsules that contain only the active ingredient in a salt form (hcl, citrate, etc) so we don't harm drug users and let them abuse them at will safely. Thread should be deleted because ill be pissed if they start pumping out meds with some of these mechanisms.
 
My ex gf had a blowtorch for opana. I usually go for something water soluble. Some time release can be beat with an ice cube. I remember when all you had to do was crush up a pill and add water. I love how doctors only let people take endo and not the generic opana so you wont sniff them. This is because to abuse endo you have to light them on fire and inject them. I mean whats worse: sniffing a pill or melting it, adding water and injecting the resulting black sludge? My doctor thinks sniffing it is far worse apparently.
 
I would possibly add atropine or some other really strong anti-cholinergic that does not work well orally but would produce anti-cholinergic toxicity if injected or snorted in high doses. That's essentially why they add atrophine to the opioid diphenoxylate in the antidiarrheal medication Lomotil. Either that or i would add some DMT to it which would completely ruin the high for your average junkie but as i just love taking a shot of morphine or whatever on psilocybin i would most likely love DMT as well though IV DMT might be abit much lol
 
I say just decriminalize drug abuse and provide ample information on proper dosing to avoid ods. Maybe include clean rigs and a bottle of naxolone with every heroin purchase made at your local pharmacy. Thats what Id like to see in terms of better medicine. OTC heroin that comes with naxalone in case you take too much.

I agree with seratonin. Dont give these assholes that work for pharm companies any clever ideas.

Exactly what I was thinking. I'm not trying to give anyone any ideas.
 
I'd imagine the big pharm giants have done a lot of expensive research/brainstorming and have already blown by anything we could come up with here haha

Hah, exactly. Billions of dollars in research spent by these companies and somebody here is going to come up with something revolutionary? Hah, if you so.. cool. Call up Pfizer or Merck and make a few million dollars with your brilliance!
