I should add that the only reason I didn't seek actual medical attention is I was on a three day bikepacking trip, on day two, with no way to access a hospital at the time. I had to work with what I had on me (only a fool doesn't take at least some medical supplies on a multi day backcountry trip, the exacto was actually intended for cutting a shifter cable housing if I snapped a cable many miles from a bike shop). In literally any other circumstances, medical intervention is the only viable option for dealing with anything that could cause sepsis.

if the soap clears your skin it should lessen your risk of getting a infection by injection.

I think if you got it checked out and were prescribed antibiotics, I wouldn't try anything radical like lancing it yourself. I know it sucks but I would expect the antibiotics to start working in a day or two and you should get some relief then.
