About to start chemo but Im also about to start WD

Not sure if I'm posting in the right section seeing as this is my first post. I'll start with a little back story...

I grew up down south here in FL when the blues were cheap. as. hell. Got prescribed them easily for sports injuries right out of highschool and was on Roxys, Dilaudid, OC, the works from 2008 to 2012. 2012 all the pharms started closin and they changed the laws blah blah blah. I went to a rehab and got off the stuff and have been clean since 2013.
(Only telling you this part to indicate that I am not narcotic-naive)

Fast forward to 2015. I was diagnosed with StageII Embryonal Tesitcular Cancer and it has metastasized to my lymphnodes and a tiny spot in my lungs.
I was in the hospital for two weeks undergoing a few surgeries and they had been giving me 3mg Dilaudid IV evr 6 hours, plus 20mg OxyContin twice a day, plus 10mg oxycodone IR as needed every four hours (needless to say I took them every 4 hours like clockwork because I was bored and I love the feeling)
They sent me home with 2 weeks worth of instant release oxys and time release oxys.
I just ran out 3 days ago and wasnt expecting much of a withdrawal since I'd been taking everything as prescribed. I was on 24 hour opiates for a strait 4 weeks. Unfortunately I started having nasty WD. I thought I would just kick it no big deal but I caved in an found some H like a dumbass.

I thought I had some time before chemotherapy would start (Doc said we'd be lookin at the first of December). So I thought I had time to kick everything and be clean when it came to chemo because I def wont be able to score when Im doing chemo. Doctor calls me yesterday and says my cancer proteins in my blood doubled so they wanna start chemo ASAP.

Should I tell my doctor that I have previously been addicted to prescribed (and illicit) opiates and that I am experiencing withdrawal and that I am obtaining opiates illicitly? I am terrified because it can be very dangerous to start withdrawal the same time I take my first dose of chemo (ill be taking BEP chemo a real ass kicker)
I kind of want to ask the doctor if he can give me something to taper me down or even if he can prescribe me a low dose of methadone or something while I'm going through this process.
I am worried about telling him about my history and my current predicament because I'm scared they wont believe me that I'm in pain once I have further surgeries and when I'm on chemo. I am concerned that telling him Im an addict might send up a little red flag and I dont want to be miserable through all this. I'm not emotionally or mentally addicted to the stuff like i was years ago just physically.

Has anyone ever been in this predicament? Any insight, advice, personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I dont see why the doctor would not give you more meds if you still are experiencing pain. Even if you are not he may be willing to do so, as you said, WD with chemo is not fun or even safe. At least a referral to a pain management or Suboxone/addiction specialist if nothing else.

If you havent already told them about your past addiction, I dont see the benefit of doing so now. You have cancer. Pain happens with cancer. Even an ex-addict should have their pain managed in situations like this. But you dont want an overly cautious or prejudiced doctor giving you like 1 Vicodin twice a day when you will surely need more.

Get on methadone. Via clinic or doc, but with a clinic you won't have the option of taking your doses too early, at least not right away. Long lasting and amazing for all types of pain. Also with short acting opiates and chemo you will likely puke up a few doses as you have to take it so often,

First of all let me say I wish you find health as soon as possible.

That hurts me to hear someone talk about having cancer.

Good Luck I suggest MEATHDONE BUT NOT MAINTENANCE FROM PAIN SPECIALIST CUZ U WANT say 30mg for some days and only 20 if you dont need it and breakthrough pain meds or better yet FUCK THE METHADONE get some Long acting oxycodone oxymorphone for our pain idk anything really like Hydromorphone i know is great for Burns but with Low tolerance I think long acting med like Oxycodone or Oxymorphone or Fentanyl Patches Maybe Low M.C.G. But in your situation maybe see if extended release Hydrocodone with like Insant Release Oxyocodone or something like i hear about higher then 5mg percocets or you know the Non gel pills in Canada nobody has because Insurance will not cover it so they pay a shit load a pill lol.


you wont believe me some people it works osme it wont work for weed gabapentin and or Lyricas And Also Using some 1000MG OR 500MG ALEVE DOSES since Ibuprofen does not last long but Naproxenw ill kill you from heart tattacck warnning nbo longer then 7-12 day usage or some shit in that Time Range.


400MG Motrin a day or say 600-1000mg Once a week or something wont cause problems but say 600mg plus everyday after 2 MONTHS MAY or may not inevitably though will START TO EVENTUALLY have Negative Impacts on the Kidneys So And We All Know ABout Tylenol Limited Acetaminophen to 3000mg per day every 4-6 hours for 1000mg and ALWAYS EAT FOOD BEFORE YOU TAKE IT LIKE EVEN IF IT WAS A 8 HOUR AGO BREAKFAST.


REASON eating even food say 16 hours ago i wouldnt take tylenol without eating any food within the last 8-24 hours maximum ResearcH i Read a report on a kid in a Hospital UNDER MEDICAL SUPERVISION WITH MEDICAL SUPERVISED DOSING WAS GIVEN LIKE 3 PERCOCETS A DAY CANT BE ANYMORE THEN LIKE 1050MG Ish I think Depending on max Tylenol Dosage maybe idk 350mg per pilll sometimes more or less right like 750MG TYLENOL PER 10MG PERC i read but i never seen anything besides 5MG TEC GENERICS IT PISSES ME OFF i feel like im a fucking positive on positive magnetic charge when it comes ot finding that and hydrocodone and i read its made in Canada but i can score h, Hydromorphone oxymorphone and oxycodone ON Gel TYPE AND CRUSHABLES but like no price discusssion if this aint allowed just snip this qoute lol sorrry.

I Read of Hydrocodone being avaiable in high dose time releases maybe just bullshit or new thing or want to create it i know shit takes time like there is a cure for morphine addiction and tolerance in RATS at leasst google it they just need approval for FDA TESTING ON HUMAN TRIALS AND THEN ON THE PUBLIC TRIALS AND THEN IF ALL GOES WELl 30 years minimum will see POSSIBLE HUMAN KIND ADDICTION CURED FROM OPIOIDS AND OR OPIATES it fustrates one to know research is just halted but for good reason i mean the new H.I.V.
