About Needle Marks

I know most, if not all, intelligent Bluelighters that shoot up are safe and use new, sterile needles and filter whatever they're shooting before doing so. If that's the case, then why do a lot of people end up with needle marks all over their arms? They do it the exact same way when you're in the doctor's office or hospital and nothing is left behind except a red dot that heals up within 1 or 2 days usually. Does it have something to do with the purity of what you're injecting? (pure USP grade as opposed to a bag of street heroin)

my aunt was a hardcore junkie and i asked her that one time. she said it's from repeatedly puncturing the same spot(s) in the vein. i generally don't trust anything that crazy women says but it's something she knows plenty about...

i'm guessing using sub-standard and dull needles would help create this effect much quicker as well.

That makes sense, but isn't one of the golden rules of shooting up to rotate spots so you give the injection site time to heal?

this is a big part of it, ever see that red thing that develops that people just keep fucking stabbing*shudders*. Personally, id hit every inch of vein running up my arm & try my best 2 space out shots wen i use.

I dont think it has anything to do with what you are injecting unless the stuff is very caustic to the vein like Phenergan. I think it is just from hitting the same vein over and over again. The more you use it the harder the vein will get. Once the vein gets hard when you try and stick it the vein actually rolls out of the way, now you have to start digging to find it and that really fucks up the arm. I think the biggest mark you can leave on your body though is if you blow the vein. That shit will bruise you for a week.

if u are good and you are using something like dilaudid there really isnt a problem hitting the same hole. I mean dillauid that is ready for IV, i am not sure about the pills people break up and ram.

also it really is good practice to have the alcohol wipe ready and waiting and as you pull out start applying pressure to the area with the wipe. The less blood that seeps out the less bruise or red mark you leave. The vein will clot and close up quick just be sure to apply the pressure right away and it will stay nice and neat.

OR just like you see them do it in the Drs office...hint hint...the nurse does not wait to see if you start bleeding when she pulls out, she is already putting the wipe there to stop it

oh, im talking street H. The biggest vein on my forearm at the croook of my elbow is black due to scar tissues & it is harrdd as hell & burns tremendously if any1 goes near it witt a needle, i gotta tell Dr.s where 2 hit wen taking blood lol. The red thing i mentioned develops when unwise junkies continually hit the same spot over and over and over.. Kinda like an absecst(sp?) except it wont get the open lip if the person takes care of it, some pplz def know.

People get bad tracks because as they get more addicted they care less about following safe injection rules.

I know when i was a heroin addict I'd reuse my needles quite a bit. Reuse cottons, shoot with melted snow or rain puddles or gatorade and all sorts of stupid things. And i'd reuse my same old spots 2-5 times a day. and only used alcohol wipes occasionally.

IV coke is also a great way to mark your arms up nasty, because you keep shooting more all night long and the more fucked up you get the worse you shoot.

No one plans on being this reckless but it's another negative result of addiction.

When you're dope sick you're probably going to use an old spike before you'll wait for a pharmacy to open to buy new gear. Or it's pretty possible that you can't afford new needles at all. And like in my city the needle exchange was only open about 4 hours a week at the worst times possible.

Sorry I guess my answer was directed more to people like myself. The only thing that gets IVed in my house is stuff that was taken from work. I know for a fact that with new needles and clean practice you can stick that same area every time and never leave anything more than a very tiny dot on the arm.

AS LONG AS WE DONT DO Promethazine...u would not think a Nausea med would wreck your vein the way that stuff does

The alcohol wipes are designed to be used to clean to site before injecting. Alcohol on the site after injecting will increase bleeding and bruising, and will make scarring worse. Applying pressure with something clean (like a clean tissue of cotton) is fine.

Ohh those shaky shakkkyy niites. Its hard 2 be so precise when your hands cant stop shaking.. Fuck skin pop, Im glad i dont waste my time nemore though.

Having a good friend or a gf set it up could work better but when it breaks down theirs always a good chance they'll jack a portion of your stash faster then you can blink. The moral: use discretion on who you trust & whos fiending if ever in a really bad speed ball binge & cant shoot it yourself.

my skin is very sensitive to needles, i get a mark even if it doesn't fully pierce the skin.

when people use their "sweet spot" over and over that makes a mark too

Putting the needle in you just under your skin, though not in a vein/artery/muscle. Also known as subcutaneous.
