Bluelighter
The humble
elderly gentleman
claimed at one point
during
his courageous speech
"I don't know
who God is
but it ain't
me"and then
I thought to myself
"maybe
bad things are really
blessings
some arrive
in a disguise
and others are entirely
obvious..."
He continued speaking
not preaching
with something less interesting
to me and so
I lay my head down on
the wooden desk
and began to ponder
my recently inspired existence
and laughed
lightly
when I realized how well I've got
a hold on this whole "life" thing
The booming applause
was worthy and rowdy
at the end
of his speech
but necessary
and deserved
then we all circled up
in the auditorium
for the Serenity prayer~
