No, not digestive problems...
I had been on oxycodone/heroin for about a year and a half of every day use before I got on suboxone, which is where I'm at now (with the occasional "vacation" to Rig-sylvania here and there).
Now, several times during the peak of my usage, I had terrible abdominal pain on the right side of my body, at the bottom of/below my rib cage... and when 600mg of oxycodone or a bundle of dope wouldn't ease the pain in the slightest, I got to thinking there was something seriously wrong with me.
So on a few separate occasions, I had a myriad of tests run: MRI's, ultrasounds of my abdomen, blood tests, the works. The doctors found that I had no diseases, viruses or bacterial infections, my kidney and liver function was always fine, my gallbladder seemed fine, no gall stones or anything noticeable, and aside from a bit of constipation on the MRI, the doctors all said I was a model of perfect health.
I've since quit drinking (I was drinking daily at the time and became very worried about my liver... and respiratory depression, but that's another story) and use opiates once a month at most, save my daily Suboxone (anywhere from 2-8mg daily) (EDIT: I also gave up all other drugs), and although the pain has subsided for the most pain, I still have the strange uncomfortable feelings in my right side
Of course, the doctors all attributed it to the constipation, and I almost believed them... although now that I'm on suboxone, my digestive track is working well and regularly, like clock-work, so that's not even an issue let alone a possible cause of these sensations anymore.
Understand that I am not seeking medical advice from this board, I've gone to several doctors for that... and I understand that there are likely few people here who have intricate knowledge of the abdomen and the possible effects that heavy opiate use may have on it, but I'm hoping that maybe someone here has experienced something similar?
Now my right side doesn't give me the severe, debilitating pain that it used to, but it doesn't feel right... almost bloated, I guess. If I bend left and right at the waist, I bend smoothly to the left, but when I bend to the right it feels like there's just *too much* in there, and my organs are being squished. Have any of you fellow junkies experienced right-side abdominal pain from opiate use that wasn't due constipation? Or is this maybe even somewhat normal given the concentration of vital organs in that area.
Any ideas? My doctors are clueless (they're also not junkies though...)
Also, sorry for the rambling, but I've been lurking these boards for years and just got around to registering so I've got a lot of topics backed up in my brain like turds in a junkie's colon :D
