Hey

Whenever i take 90mg (or more) codeine phosphate i get a dull pain around my upper stomach/liver. People who has removed their gallbladder can't use morphine or codeine because if this issue, but i have never had problems with my gallbladder (and i haven't removed it).

I once drank alot of cough syrup (not the type with codeine and promethazing) which contained ethylmorphine (didnt feel any high) and i got an intense pain in my liver/upper stomach and kidneys, like a gallbladder attack (which i NEVER have when im sober).

Whats wrong with me? Anyone on this forum know how to prevent this pain when taking codeine?

Edit: Ive read that stomach cramps are often a side effect of codeine, could it be that?

Btw, my english isnt perfect

Stomach cramps. Also, most people who've had a cholecystectomy have no problems with opiates.

You think it might be stomach cramps? Well the pain is in the upper stomach/liver though, maybe i have gallstones or something without any symptoms

Anyway, if its just stomach cramps, is there any way i can take codeine without having these cramps?

Nausea +/or stomach cramps
are an extremely common
side effect
for many people
from opiates
of any kind.
