A warning to those locking your drugs in a safe...

Just thought I'd let tell a story about an experience I'm having with locking my stash in a safe. I had some acquaintances over the other night who like to enjoy my usual array of opiates/benzos/stims and all in between. Well, just to be on the safe side, I locked up a good amount of it in my safe just in case overnight they decided to raid my stash and leave me with nothing for the next day. When I did this (which was when I was highly intoxicated among other things) I hid the key in a very crafty spot so they wouldn't be able to find it.

Long story short, here I am two nights later looking to get high off my stash which is securely locked away in my safe. Though because when I hid the key to my safe I was essentially in a blackout, I cannot remember for the life of me where I hid it. I've been tearing my place apart for over an hour trying to figure out where the F I hid this thing, to no avail. My drugs are two feet away from me in a locked box, but I can't get to them because I'm an idiot and hid my key when my memory was not functional.

Harm reduction value...if you're going to lock up your goods, make sure you remember where you hide the key. Because now I'm feeling the WD's creeping in and I can't even access my own stash. I give myself an A+ on hiding the key - that thing must be in a good ass hiding spot. I give myself an F- for doing it when rocked out of my mind as now I can't find it.

This will probably get closed, but I think my experience can lend advice to those who may (stupidly, as I was) find themselves in the same position. DON'T HIDE YOUR SAFE KEY WHEN YOU'RE SUPER HIGH...

Btw it's a nicer safe and by tomorrow if I still can't find the key I may have to resort to prying it open which I really don't want to do.

Sometimes you gotta laugh at yourself at the dumb shit you do when you're getting rocked...worth it? You be the judge. At least I know it's there...

Or you could always keep a spare in a hiding spot that you thought of while sober...
 
^ A very good point, but I have only one key to my safe. And I know certain people who come by my place now and then know some of my safe key hiding spots, so I try to switch it up every now and then. They're not bad people, I just know how things get late in the night when everyone is looking to get just a little more high.

The point of the post is more about a humorous/stupid thing that happened to me...just me being dumb enough to hide it and then forget where I hid it. You always think you're crafty when you're wasted...until the next day when you need to pick up the pieces haha.
 
that's true a few months ago i misplaced a biggie of blow in my basement and to this day haven't found it. Either a) someone else that night saw me hide it which is very likely, and took it. b) it's still in some crevice lol c) one of my parents found it and chucked it without bringing it up, but i doubt this.

I've already spent a few days looking for it lol, i just kinda go down for like 20 minutes and look around but I've given up. It was only a bit over a quarter gram anyways.
 
Try getting drunk and thinking of where you hit the keys then. I believe it's been proven that you really do remember things you did drunk when you are drunk again, and it wasn't just made up in the movie Beerfest.

Thought of that...but keeping it on my keychain or in my jeans leaves it viable to my girlfriend, who I'm trying to hide all of this from. It's a clusterfuck situation.

I'm working on that as we speak lol.
 
Or you could use keyless entry safes.

Are you serious? drug addicts and keys? not the best option.

I keep the bulk of my medications in safes however most are the huge combination style. I like it. If you're too intoxicated it's hard to open so it's even a method of harm reduction against myself hah.

Kiddin, this actually happened to me a lot, sometimes sober even. ;p

Try looking somewhere obvious but at the same time totally ridiculous. It's probably there right in front of you.

You are so gonna /facepalm when you find it ;p
 
Not really OD material, although it is HR to lose your key.

Moving over to Drug Culture.
 
I hope someone didn't see where you put the key, retrieved it and your drugs, and then just didn't put the key back...
 
I have a friend who always stashes his dope while super high then blames everyone the next day for taking it and throws a hissy. We know to get out of there now before that point so we dont get blamed. The stash always resurfaces and he apologizes but I hate bein around when ppl lose their stash always feel awkward
 
I'm sure you'll find your key sooner or later. I always hide the key to my safe in the same place, but it also has a combination lock, the old kind with a dial, you know, 5 clockwise, to 30 counterclockwise and so on - so that keeps me from opening it if too intox-d. =)
 
I thought safes use combination locks? That could be worse though. If you forget those numbers you're SOL. At least you know the key is somewhere even if you can't find it yet.
