as a smoker i feel as if nicotine is often overlooked...yea cigs kill people..and we know they are bad on so many levels..but ask any smoker who has tried to quit what that first puff feels like 3-4 days without one...you come pretty close to pure ecstasy....as if every good sensation if your body turned on at once...granted it lasts for about 25 seconds and your are lightheaded as shit after the whole cig, but that indescribable feeling of nicotine after not having it, is i feel one of the better euphoric feelings i have experienced....

If anything, it's by far one of the most over rated drugs on the market and I wish I never tried it. There is not much I regret more than picking up the first cancer stick.

I've never been a tobacco addict, I have however smoked vanilla blunt wraps without marijuana in them as I loved the taste of them and found them very relaxing. I did start to get hooked and ended up quitting.

I do agree tobacco is very over rated, or maybe just over used?

I've also tried nicotine vaporisers/electronic cigarettes and found them relaxing. Also with it being just nicotine it's apparently not carcinogenic and is apparently as bad for you as caffeine. Though it does have a low LD50 (Lethal dose 50, the dose at which 50% of rhe population would die. The LD50 is considered the OD doseage for the majority of the population and is what's put on drug boxs/leaflets.) I know it's lower than caffeine.

But I found E-Cig's/vapurised nicotine nice and relaxing though obviously very short acting. And with it being more pphysically addictive than morphine/diamorphine(Heroin) I decided not to use it much/often. Haven't used it for over two weeks, but I know it's nice to have some when high on an opiate/opioid.

Here is more info' regarding LD50/Lethal Dose 50/Median lethal dose that everyone should read!!! :-

I've never known anyone that could smoke them and not pick up at least a little bit of an addiction. I'm with tricomb, wish I would have never picked them up.

Even when I got the head rush (over a decade ago) I didn't enjoy it much. After a big meal or sex they're wonderful though. :p

I haven't used tobacco many times, but the handful of times I have, I have found that it was quite enjoyable (smoked) and I could see myself easily becoming addicted to nicotine. I can think of a few situations in which nicotine could especially enjoyable. I think if used in the morning, the effects of nicotine could provide a nice stimulation, focus, and allow for a bit of mood lift. The idea of coffee and cigarettes appeals to me. I can also think nicotine could be of use when in deep relaxation or right before bedtime, or while during a good opiate high. Like I said, though, I think I could become easily addicted, and likely consume enormous amounts of tobacco daily once habituated. The first time I used tobacco (smoked), it was very pleasant, and I experienced very mild if any adverse effects, save for some tracheal/bronchial irritation.

One odd phenomenon that nicotine exerts on me is causing an almost uncontrollable erection, and often secretion of pre-ejaculate. Very odd, but I assume with tolerance such an effect would fade.

THIS!!!!!! Damn cigarettes! I hate smelling like cigarettes in the office so I smoke before my morning shower and once on my lunch break (if I get one). I am so paranoid that the nurses know my dirty little secret. I would be better off going to work buzzed on percs.

Im kinda jealous, its very hard for me to do cigs occasionally, just like alot of stuff I guess, but soon as i get out of Shit cornwall, ill go bact to my weed, and I HOPE NEVER to pick up a cig ever again! I think im hooked on the feeling of smoke (any) entering my body????

It's overrated shit, i mean it does go well with every drug don't get me wrong. And i am one of the lucky few people who has smoked years on and off, ill buy a pack then stop then buy one then stop then buy one then stop. Or ill bum one every once in a while but i never ever go for repeated pack after pack as the average person does, after i kill a pack i think of all the toxins and shit that goes with cigs then give my self a break. Now to the buzz, my first few cigarette buzz's were great i felt extremely stimulated and light headed and everything looked a bit more clear. But that quickly went away and now i just get a mild buzz , i really don't get how people can be so attached to cigs? Is it because smoking is just a social filler until they do the real drugs, like you can walk around anywhere and smoke but you've got to hide your substance usage usually.

Well, it's just not thought of as a 'drug' by many, or at least not in the way cocaine or heroin is.

As someone who's smoked for a long time and is trying to quit, I feel that nicotine is way over rated. It does nothing for me except relieve my urge to smoke. People think that ciggarette's reduce anxiety, and there is some truth to that, as it works upon Dopamine and possibly even GABA receptors (along with others). But usually I believe once one has developed a Dependancy, that 'relief' is produced because the craving has been satisfied.

Nicotine is highly overrated. It is something I completely regret ever starting. When I smoke it's like a chore, I do it because I crave it and I try to smoke quickly and get it done with. I don't enjoy cigarettes (unless I'm on MDMA or opiates), otherwise it's just shit.

Looking at that link, I was surprised Dendrotoxins (mamba toxins) or bungarotoxins (krait toxins) weren't listed as they are very lethal toxins. The Inland taipan (which produces taipoxin and protease enzymes) is up there on the list (the most venomous land snake).

+1

I'm wayyyyyyyyyyyyy down from where i used to be..
but i haven't quit completely..
i rely on them from time to time..
i've been told it's actually the deep breathing that relaxes me..
and not the cigarettes....makes sense to me..
but..there's times..say i just had an argument..
or something to that effect..
where i find that cigarette...and can find some satisfaction in it.
i regret being able to find satisfaction in something so horrible for me.

i agree with TC. it's cost my shitloads of money (a pack a day for ten years), has never gotten me high, caused physical addiction and ruined my health. well, to an extent at least, what i didn't ruin through smokes i did through MDMA and alcohol. i remember when i first started with 16, back then i found the effect mildly pleasant but very short lived. in any case, i still pack my bowls with a mixture of hash/weed and tobacco, and the nicotine rush i associate with a bong hit i really missed on the few occasions i decided to smoke pure weed.

Overrated. Smoking is only worth it when you are high. I actually quit 3 weeks ago cold turkey because it just didn't do it for me anymore.

tobacco is like the worst drug, it's more habit forming than any other drug IME, and it barely even gives you any effect. It drains your bank account. I like to think that it was the native americans' prank on white people for taking their land.
