theres blood on the sidewalk covered with ice
marketplace calls of little blue bags from hooded figures riding circles on bikes
blossoming red fountain strikes

numbered blocks descending
cars on wooden blocks
flashing blue and white police roadblocks

men with badges and malicious smiles
beating on young men in pain and scared young women
no miranda no quarter
chains and bludgeons
eating the frozen asphault
dried urine floored frozen cells
i think i'll rest a while

turnkey turnkey
i think ill hang myself
and you will never be anything but a fucking turnkey

because there are locks on everything
locks and paint and numbers
blood
visible and not
fresh packages staying ahead of the rot

days are short out here
money is never long either
keep a brown bag around your bottle or beer

cambria
allegheny
lehigh
tioga and indiana

its all yellow chinese store signs
with thick bulletproof barriers
get on the ground
come up out ya pockets

we're all dying out here
but we're all dying everywhere
so come into the vacant
there's candles in here
not a bad place to die
in here
out there

theres blood in the tube
slam it home son
its as good as any other place to be
and for now you're high
you're high

a soldier
in no gods dissembled army

Hmm...true. But your tone seems to be set by this stanza to me:
we're all dying out here
but we're all dying everywhere
so come into the vacant
there's candles in here
not a bad place to die
in here
out there

I'm personally not too comfortable with death around me, so I'd feel sullen in an environment like that.

death's everywhere. haven't you ever hit a squirrel?

but yeah, its morbid.

^Yeah, I know, and I've come to accept that for myself.:D I still don't like it.

I could see how it could be a celebration of a way of life and environment...I notice that now

actually its sort of a celebration and condemnation at the same time. thats how i felt when i was writing it, although i guess i didnt realize that.

thanks, New, great insights! :D
