Benzos A SERIOUS Etizolam(Etilaam) warning (Blepharospasms, possibly permanent)

Since when is eye twitching a "REALLY serious" problem. If one is taking that much etizolam regularly, then they probably have much more serious side-effects down the road to worry about than eye twitching. Like those similar to regular benzo use ie seizures, permanent cognitive disfunction and even death

Gee. Thanks.

I got a touchup of Botox Tuesday, and while today (Thursday) was kinda annoying this morning. Sunday-Wednesday were pretty great days.

I have only had like 8mg eti total in my life but have been on 6mg Ativan for 3 years and switched to 4mg clonazepam for 5 years with triazolam .5mg then switched the triazolam to 30mg temazepam for sleep, and have these eye twitches, there subtle but can be noticed by my peers, it happens as a precursor to withdrawl for me, its the first sign its time to take my meds.
I take them for legit medical reasons so I don't care about side effects, at this point in my life I have learned that being on this much benzodiazepines for so long has me locked into physical dependence. I don't crave them mentally but if I go 1 day without them shit hits the fan fast. I would not wish this on anybody ever unless your using them as a real medication I would be scared to hell if I had to go call some dealer to get some Xanax or k-pins.

I got some blepharospasms and finger twitches (none as nearly as bad as you, probably only noticed by me) while binging on etizolam or ghb, but it stopped when I stopped binging. Hope you get better eventually.

I've been taking 1-2mg/day for about a year now, with a handful of days without any (in line with my ADD medication). I went through a peiod of a month or two with the same sort of twitches in one eye. I can only recall getting the twitches while playing video games or staring at a monitor. I haven't grown breasts or noticed anything else that could be a side effect of etizolam but just thought I'd chime in, being a relatively long-term user.

Mine only happened with 10mg+ per day for a few days, weren't that annoying as ops (maybe a few times per day) and disappeared almost immediately with more sane doses. Also didn't get any with taking no etizolam (wouldn't really call it withdrawal because it was far from the horror stories I've read online.. basically just some trouble falling asleep and more vivid dreams (ok, those were fun)).
GHB was similar except that it mostly caused my left index finger to twitch (only when taking a lot). Stopped when I stopped that and didn't reappear during withdrawal (which I'm again not sure if it should be called that, because the only symptom I had was missing the high, but then again I never took it 24/7).

Condition is getting better.

Could be the Botox setting in (had a touchup done a week ago today) or it could be going away. I'm leaning towards a mixture of both. I think it may eventually go away go away.

I have gotten this before and used to be dependent on Xanax and Klonopin.

The one time I got it was when I combined phenibut and Xanax. I wasn't dependent on either when it happened.

I read that these can also be caused by being dependent on benzos. My eyelid was twitching like crazy and I wasn't even trying to move it. Just complete involuntary movements. I had to lay down and after a good sleep I felt fine when I woke up. It is really weird though because it takes over your eye and just makes it twitch uncontrollably.

It's probably a sign that you need to taper and quit if you continue to get these.

Are all of you guys taking the intas and md ones? I've been taking etizolam on and off now for a little over a year now, started with intas but for the past 5 months or so I've been using the powder which i find much, much stronger but still can work my way up to 15-20mgs, (I have a natural high tolerance to benzos and dissociatives) and have never experienced anything like this though I am a daily poly drug user so maybe its being masked by some other drug. I've only gotten these eye twitches mention back when I was using coke everyday for some years which is making me think it may be something in the pill filler that's causing certain people to get these twitches and flutters. I'd say on a normal day I take 7-12mgs and just get a content stoned feeling, size and natural tolerance I'm sure play a factor but if I'm marathon tripping for over a day to two or so I lose count how how much etiz I took to help smooth out the ride. If that were any other benzo I'd be going through miserable, miserable withdrawl which is one of the reasons I have a soft spot for it.
I don't know what to say other than the classic line drugs effect everyone differently.

Strictly Intas for me.

As far as withdrawals, I didn't really have any after a year of abuse. I abrutply quit. No seizures. About 3 weeks of shitty sleep, but that's par for the course.

I had a couple of panic attacks but noting too crazy. Took 2-3 minutes on each to calm down

I will note that once while using Etizolam I got eye twitches. They went away after three days. I believe I was tapering off or stopped when they occurred. I should note that very rarely I developed eye twitches from anxiety. First time was back in 7th grade and that was quite some time ago (recently turned 30). So not sure if it was from the Etizolam, but it is a side effect.

Anyways, OP I hope they go away. Give it some time. Also, going cold turkey off of them might be contributing to the problem, especially since you have been using for a year. I will not that Etizolam had very little WD syndroms for me, but I wasn't using as long as you were.

Yeah, very little w/d. Much smoother than I guess I expected it to be. It's really a foggy blur, could've been worse than I remember but I doubt it.

I did acupuncture (lol) and got a massage today.

Appointment with opthomologist on Friday. I was explaining it to my dad, one of the few people I can trust and he was trying to relate it to other things he knows about and I broke down and said:

YOU DON'T GET IT. I TOOK A DRUG NO DOCTOR IN AMERICA KNOWS ABOUT. I'M GOING TO HAVE TO EDUCATE THEM ON IT BEFORE THEY CAN HELP ME, IF THEY CAN HELP ME. THIS IS THE WORST POSSIBLE THING THAT COULD HAPPEN.

-- not the worst as in like heroin addiction but worst as in "i took a weird drug"

I would like to add that eye twitches, even with NO history of drug use, can still be a daily occurance for months at a time.

I'm not downplaying any side effects that someone may have experienced due to etizolam, just trying to make you all aware this can happen naturally and is caused by stress and anxiety.

I can second that as i personally get small eye twitches when im stressed and i suffer major eye twitches from trigeminal neuralgia.
Funnily though, i dont get any while im on etizolam....kind of ironic really.
I hope things improve for you soon OP, the twitches are irritating as hell.

I have had eye twitches in the past and never known the cause. I use Klonopin. I can attest to how frustrating/annoying they are. Especially because they are noticeable to other people. I really hope yours go away completely, regardless of the cause.

I'm pretty stress free at the moment. Got about $10k in the bank, no job, just hanging out and taking care of my little one all summer. /shrug

I think they're tightening down too hard on benzos now, considering how serious the withdrawal symptomps are. It's more of a medication than a drug. The drug-effect is barely noticable with a few days' tolerance and you might as well drink instead if you just want to have fun. That it has going for it is it's less toxic and less work than alcohol and doesn't have to be obvious at lower doses.

Anyway, the real craving for it comes as a form of medication, either from benzo withdrawal or stimulant side-effects, which are both no joke. And for something that can hardly take you over baseline in an unaddicted state, it's literally miraculous in its healing ability to take you from far below baseline to just above and stop all physical symptomps, or even just to let you taper down more safely.

When you need it for that as opposed to for recreational purposes I don't think it should be treated as a drug but just face the reality that you're in need of it. When I went to get an emergency script I had to really fight for it and the doctor treated me like a drug-seeker, even though my main concern was fear of death, and I was having obvious advanced withdrawal symptomps like beginning seizures and psychosis. Then the pharmacist looked at me with complete contempt just because I had a script for 25 benzos.

Well...don't you think considering how awful and life threatening the withdrawals are that that is probably why they are getting more strict about prescribing benzos?? You are saying they shouldn't be so strict because of how bad the wds are?? what a backwards way of looking at it!

Also by the way, all medications ARE drugs. By saying drugs, do you mean ones used for recreational purposes??

im inclined to agree here.
You cant separate medication, drugs and alcohol. This is a counter-productive view thats fairly out-dated and only works to down play the risks of medications and alcohol.
